Has anyone sued paypal for working against you for a chargeback? <removed>, a convicted credit card fraud criminal who ebay banned is doing chargebacks through paypal. Paypal ignores my proof like positive feedback left by buyer, emails from the buyer that he is happy with purchase and proof of delivery. I am not the only person he is doing this to. As far am I am concerned Paypal is an accomplice to this fraud. I have no choice but to hire a lawyer and sue paypal for there lack of protection encouraging criminal activity.

A chargeback is done via a buyers credit card company and the card company make the decision and not paypal.
You are very brave putting someones personal info on a public board and accusing them of fraud, good luck with that one.
Positive feedback is meaningless as it can easily be left for the wrong seller by mistake or by someone else who has hijacked an Ebay account.
Good luck with sueing paypal for this one
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. I wasn't accusing, just stating a fact that is public knowledge and was
already in the Houston Chronicle newspaper. Sellers need to be aware of this guy as he already ripped off people on ebay and now paypal.

That's the problem, I ask Paypal and they tell me they don't know. Then they tell me based on the proof given they won't cover it but will attempt to recover it from the bank. How am I suppose to supply proof when I don't even know what I'm suppose to show proof for? I gave them everything I could think of.

This is terrible, you should have received an email from Paypal that someone has initiated a chargeback against you and aask you to furnish any proof to defend yourself so they can forward to the cc issuer.

They did ask for any proof but not what the reason the proof was for. I called and they didn't even know. I sent the tracking delivery confirmation. They said based on my proof they won't cover it so I sent them positive feedback he left and an email that he said he wanted to buy more coins. Based on what I've read here Paypal does not protect sellers against fraudulent chargebacks which encourages the practice. Anyway I have plenty of proof this guy is a career criminal who spent 87 months in prison for credit card fraud.

Why was the delivery confirmation not accepted? Was it available online? Online tracking to recipient's address should be OK as long as it shows with a regular delivery service.
Was the item eligible for seller protection?

Delivery confirmation was a tracking number from a USPS Paypal shipping label. That's another thing that **bleep** me off. I use a Paypal shipping label so of course they already have it in there system that it was delivered. I sent Paypal a screenshot of my eBay account showing it was delivered.
Seller protection does not apply to chargebacks. I didn't know this, must be in the fine print. Paypal told me the credit card bank supersedes any Paypal or eBay's policy. The bank has the final say so and Paypal takes the money from the seller and charges me a $20 fee.

What was the proof PayPal requested?
I'm trying to get some insight on the real reason for the chargeback.
PayPal protection applies to item not delivered.
You would also be covered for a claim of unauthorized, but you need to comply with PayPal requirements for protection.
Did you ship to the buyer's PayPal address as listed in the PayPal transaction detail page?
Did the PayPal transaction detail page indicate "OK to ship" and "eligible for seller protection?
Was tracking number part of the transaction? It should have been automatic.
As I'm reading more I assume that the dispute was not about delivery but about something else about the product. PayPal does not provide chargeback protection over not as described, only not delivered.
