When will Paypal protect the SELLER from fraud??

I'm getting sick and tired of Ebay/Paypal's one-way protection scheme.

I have perfect feedback. 3800 transactions, 2800+ 100% feedback. In short, I'm an honest seller that does things right. I sell an item, and the buyer is a problem from the get-go. Asking for tracking info and complaining that it isn't right/doesn't work, before the end of the same day he bought it on. Right off the bat, I know this guy is trouble.

So he gets the $160 part, and immediately files a dispute. Then, he turns around and files a claim immediately. All this happens before I even know there is a problem. He never contacts me directly.

Paypal tells me he filed a dispute. And tells me he filed a claim. Then doesn't give me any way to say anything, unless I want to check the box marked "no problem, full refund"! So Paypal directs the guy to send me back the item, even though I put in the comments that I would like for the buyer to send me a picture of the supposed defect. [Buyer claims item not as described, and doesn't come with drain plugs].

So buyer send me back the item, and it's the same part as I sold him, but an older version that I have never seen. Probably over 6 years older than the current version I am selling. Looking closely, I can see that its also a used part that was cleaned up. This guy basically took an older version and used me to upgrade it.

Ebay and Paypal are so buyer biased that I feel like there is nothing I can do except watch them let the buyer **bleep** me! What can be done?

Funny how many buyers on here post that paypal favours sellers and how many sellers post that paypal favours buyers.

At the end of the day it is impossible to always be right in the event of an item received but not as described dispute. Its down to one persons word against the other and sometimes things go wrong.

We have to put up with the odd bad seller the way high street shops have to put up with the odd shoplifter.

I tend to view it that losing money on an odd bad transaction is more than made up with the funds i do make by using paypal as i am not a business seller and would not be able to receive instant card funded payments without it.
