I talked to someone on the phone about this last night and thought I had it figured out but now I'm not sure. My husband listed a racecar on a website for $4000. A guy in the military wants to pay for it by paypal as a surprise for someone. No problem with the price and said he will send someone to pick it up as soon as the money is transferred to our paypal account. He said he cannot make phonecalls only send text messages. I've never done a transaction before and I'm not sure about the security of it and he says this is the safest way. I've read the safety stuff but it sounds like the item has to be "shipped" not "picked up" in order for it to be protected for us. Can the money be deposited to paypal and then immediately withdrawn or something? I'm very leary...

Hi imclueless

This is a typical scam!!

Type scams in the search box and u will see stories similar to your own!

NEVER accept ppal for an item that needs collecting because u have no sellers protection if there are any problems

CASH on collection always

Afterall who would buy a vehicle without seeing it or testing it!
