Refunds

Why would 2 of my refunds from a online shop be on hold by PayPal? Never had this before, normally they go straight in. Thanks

Pending refunds can only happen for two reasons.

1. The seller has issued a refund from their bank account which takes time to process.

2. You funded the payment to the seller using bank transfer. What PayPal do here is credit the recipient on your behalf (so there is no delay in despatching your item). Then if you receive a refund in the meantime they are unable to issue this until the original bank transfer completes.

Hi, Thank you for the the reply. I paid via PayPal but with the pay after 14 days option. So by the time I got the refunds off boohoo the money owed back to PayPal had come out of my bank. I’ve had 3 more this morning, 2 have gone straight to my PayPal the 3rd is pending like the others. When I called PayPal themselves they didn’t say they had put it on hold. I can see they have when I select to see the details. Quite annoying tbh as it is quite a bit of money to come back to me. Thanks 🙂
