Refund pending

Made payment with my debit card on 10/18.  Seller refunded same morning as item was already sold.  It still shows pending 10/23.  Will it go back onto my debit card or will it be a Paypal balance that I then have to wait another ridiculous amount of time to get it credited to my bank account and what is the hold up?  The seller did not refund it with an echeck.

Have you never looked on your credit card statement and seen 'pending' transactions going in and out?

Payments are never instant, when you pay a seller paypal CREDIT them in advance the funds so you get your item more quickly and then paypal wait for the funds to transfer from your bank or card to pay them back again.

I have 3 'pending' transactions on my credit card statement at the moment for Ebay sellers but my items are already on the way.

So when your seller refunded then they refunded paypals credited money, so paypal are waiting for your funds to clear from your credit card and then they will reimburse you back to that card. Should take a few days (I have never waited longer than a week).
