PayPal Credit option not working on ebay

I've been trying to purchase an item for almost a week now on ebay with paypal credit.  I wanted to use paypal credit so I could have some time to pay the $1000 for the camera I want, but though it SAYS I can use paypal credit, when I try to select it only gives me the option for billmelater and then redirects me to APPLY for a paypal credit account despite the fact that I have TWO paypal credit accounts already.  I do not have any desire to open a third line of credit.  

  I've tried contacting PayPal customer service and Ebay customer service to no avail.  They seem incapable of even figuring out why I'm having this issue.  I also contacted the seller to make sure they accepted PayPal Credit and they do.  This is EXTREMELY frustrating and makes me question using paypal credit in the future.  What a pain.

    I had the same thing happen to me with a guitar for christmas. I spent 2 hrs on the phone with paypal which led to an ebay and paypal conference call. They couldnt help me at all and cancelled my guitar i was trying to buy. They refuse to honor any of their paypal credit payment plans which is still listed on numerous auctions. I was approved for everything and I do have paypal credit account. I guess it's all just a con job to get new people to sign up for their paypal credit accounts.

    So Beware people the 12 month 18 month and 24 month payments plans through paypal credit are nothing more than a scam and lie to get you to open a paypal credit account in which there is no option for any of the above monthly payments plans when purchasing.

    Customer service is just paypal and ebay pushing blame on each other and their only solution is to tell you not to pay for the auction you had confirmed on. They wont honor the12 18 and 24 monthly payment plans that they offter to you on the auctions . I'm extremely upset and dissapoint in both paypal and ebay.

Same here...  No option to pay through PayPal now, just credit card option.  Additionally, been having problems since last Wednesday, was able to make purchases through PayPal credit then all of a sudden, error messages from multiple sites when trying to check out and constant requests from PayPal to accept a call or text to input verification code...  It even audaciously replies "Thank you.  Your account has been validated (or someting to that effect)", then I go tocheck out...  "Sorry....."

I also called customer service twice, they do not know what is going on... Saying that PayPal cannot verify my location... "What browser are you using?...(yada, yada, yada)." Second call they supposedly escalated my call to their security team (I guess the division that puts restrictions on your account because of potential fraud, or flag accounts for suspicious activity...not sure exactly) WHO was supposed to call me within 24 hours.  That was this past Thursday or Friday I was told this.  Think they called?  No, of course not!  I missed out on some good deals online because of them.  I understand online security, but it is Black Friday...Thursday, or whatever... People are shopping like crazy, especially those of us with children.

I've worked in customer service before and you always try to keep customers happy in order to maintain your revenue stream, somehow it seems that either PayPal is trying to reduce their financial liability by providing poor service to customers who will disconnect their accounts, padding their stock by approving customers for the short term, meanwhile making themselves look financially viable, but really anticipating some sort of reorgnization or acquisition...  I know it may be a stretch, but the lenght of time that this has been happening with no concern from PayPal to address the issue is disconcerting and a big waste of time to those of us trying to do honest buisness by utilizing their services.  Go figure...

First of all. It is well established that a problem exists, but have you seen a single post from paypal on this issue. One post telling people to call customer service. I would rather go slam my head in the doorway than call them again.

Even the PayPal Credit stores won't allow me to use my PayPal Credit despite having a full wallet - complete and utter waste of time.

PayPal Credit stopped working on my iPad and iPhone. Option available but can't be selected or tap and nothing happens. No worries if you have a PC. Just log on to EBay on the PC and everything works fine! Apparently the problem is with the app.

Hi There,

I just had the exact same problem. The transaction went through on my bank account instead of paypal credit.

I went into PayPal and clicked on the cog for settings, then in payment preferences I made sure that store payments and online payments were checked for paypal credit.

Then (and I believe this is where the problem is) I signed back into ebay and put an item in my basket and clicked continue to checkout. There is a choice of payment options as before except there is now two PayPal options! One is PayPal and the other is PayPal Credit. Click PayPal Credit and it all works smoothly. Hope this works for you. 🙂

That is not the case for me. Often the Paypal Credit option is not available at checkout.

If you read the fine print on the PayPal credit info on Ebay, it says it works for most items on Ebay, but not digital items.

I tested this by trying a film camera which

worked just like you would expect with PayPal credit, and then a digital camera, which didn't work with PayPal credit. Unfortunate but true.

I guess DVDs are considered digital goods to PayPal Credit. I sent an email message through Paypal asking what is considered "Digital Goods" because someone else said they couldn't buy a digital camera but a regular film one they could. What about the PS2 games I just bought through PayPal credit, isnt that considered "digital goods". PayPals inclusion and exclusion is very off.
