Pay After Delivery Not Available

I know this has been asked many times. But why doesn't pay after delivery show up as an option? I have searched and read many posts about this issue. But I haven't found a solid answer other than it only random shows up or whatever. My account is verified and linked to my bank account. I do have it set as my preferred payment option but I don't see it when I try to checkout on an ebay item. Anyways I'd rather not deal with customer service if it's just going to be a hassle, so hopefully someone can help me out here. Pay After Delivery Not Available as of yesterday (12/20/14) and Removed from Payment Options on PayPal Account as well.  

 

I became concerned because, like so many other users who have posted here, my PAD ability suddenly no longer appeared on my payment options at eBay checkout.

 

Then, much to my amazement, the option is not even available anymore on my PayPal account in the Payment Preferences section.  Whereas Pay After Delivery was my default payment preference - to not even have the option available on the PayPal site is majorly disturbing!  I had just double checked the day before and it was there on the PayPal site.

 

A year or so ago, my use of the PAD option was suddenly no longer a choice at checkout.  I called PayPal customer service immediately and was told the program was being phased out.

I made a second call, a few moments later and the representative told me that she was unable to give me any details as to why the option had suddenly been removed from my checkout choices.

 

A few days later, kaboom, it was back.  I'm hoping the same thing will happen this time.  But I agree with everyone, not having any concrete policy is a huge bummer and totally inconsiderate and unprofessional on PayPal's part.

The EXACT same thing just happened to me! Been using PAD for at least a year, no problems. Account is 100% verified. I went to make my usual purchases on Ebay and other sellers and NO Pay After Delivery option. I went through my Paypal ....and the option is totally gone.

I am a bit upset because I am going through chemo and I have just lost my hair. I wanted to buy a wig for Christmas and now I am stuck with a scarf. 😕

Sorry to hear about you haveing to go through Chemo. No one is still really answering the question about PAD.

I have been using Pay after Delivery with this same merchant on Ebay since Pay after Delivery was first introduced. I just used it with this merchant 2 weeks ago. Now I go to use it for the same merchant today and it is not available. What happened to PAD?

I am  very sorry to hear about you chemo too.  😞  I hope things turn out well for you. Will be thinking of you. 🙂  As for PayPal, let me tell you, I have had NOTHING but problems with our account now for going on two months. Maybe you've seen my other posts.  Now finally, things appear fixed EXCEPT Pay After Delivery is completely gone -- againn -- and every time I call, they lie and whomever I talk to gives me a different story and excuse.  It's beyond getting old. I've been with them for 14.6 years now and they coulnd't care less about me as a customer.  Since I'm not bringing millions through them, I'm guessing that puts me at the low-end of their priority list.  If another, similar, payment method were available, at this point, I'd dump PayPal.

Mine still isn't working either and depending on who you get when you call, you either get the run around and no fix or a fix.  I'm so **bleep** sick of calling there that I could scream. They dont' care about small peons like us. Not all all. Have been a faithrul and good customer for 14 1/2 years. They don't care.

Same problem here.....pay after delivery used extensively and now it's gone. Seems there are no qualifying transactions anymore? I call BS.

Lies. Lies.And more lies. It's all I get from PayPal. They don't care anything about their customers unless they are big business.  Now I've been told that this problem should "clear up" after the first of the year.  But it isn't. Then I'm told it might take a couple of months. Oh and there is "nothing" they can do.  It's the "security" and it will have to "clear itself up".  Let me tell you, as soon as something else comes along that competes with PayPal, I'm gone. Almost 15 years I've been with them and I've never gotten more BS than I have the past couple of months.  I'm done.

I too have been facing this dilemma. I didn't know about "Pay After Delivery" until just abou three weeks ago. A guy I work with mentioned it to me when I said something about all the items he looks at on EBay. So he told me about PAD, said he had been using it for EVERY transaction one EBay and a few other places for quite a while. I looked into it, logged in to my PayPal account and signed up. (Keep this in mind, my account is 100% verified, and has been for a long time, I am also a 7 year member of PayPal) Now my friend who told me about the service and has been using it EVERY transaction without fail for quite some time is 60% verified and an 8 year member of PayPal.

 

The day I signed up I had trouble from the onset. I signed up and went to EBay only to find PAD would not work for me. I thought maybe I did something wrong. I linked and unlinked my accounts between EBay and PayPal (Nothing). I sent e-mails and made phone callsto PayPal only to get told things like "It doesn't work with every transaction", "Some sellers don't accept this type of payment", "It has something to do with our security model and we aren't privy to know how the security system works", "Delete your browsing history and cookies and try again in five minutes", and on and on. I was told these same things I couldn't say how many times between e-mail and phone calls.

 

My responses were always the same. "I work with a guy that is sitting right next to me that gets PAD to work EVERY time and has for a long while now", "I have sold things on EBay before and know people that still sell frequently, this is not something they set up and wouldn't you know it, one of the didn't even know this service existed for buyers", "If it is something in your security model, and you don't know what's going on with it, shoudln't you have said that in the first place? Do I need to talk to the security team?", "My computer is set to delete everything everytime I get off the internet, but ok I'll manually delete the whole one page -my home page- that is on my browser history currently"

 

After numerous e-mails and about 7 phone calls I finally spoke to a rep who asked me a series of multiple choice security questions. I think there were five questions total. At the end of the brain and memory racking quiz he told me to give it 10 minutes and try to purchase something. After about a half hour I had a chance to give it a shot and much to my surprise it worked. $244.95 P.A.D. due on the 3rd of February. We'll send you reminders close to that time. WOW IT WORKED, I was so excited I couldn't wait until that one was paid for and I could try again. I started looking into a few cheaper items I had wanted that wouldn't cause any financial strain only to find out my $244.95 P.A.D. was only a fleeting moment of relief. It no longer worked again. I couldn't buy a $12.00 item using P.A.D. Needless to say I again was not happy. I thought well maybe since it is my first P.A.D. and it was such a large amount maybe I'll wait for it to clear, then the security model will trust me more. I can wait two weeks, no big deal. So on February 3rd I crossed my fingers and tried for my $12.00 item which was now $13.85, but whatever, and guess what, NO PAY AFTER DELIVERY OPTION.

 

I immediately began calling again armed with my previous experience in getting it to work finally, but no one could manage to this day (Almost three weeks later) to get it to work even a second time.

 

If anyone has any luck I would love to hear how you managed it...

PAD has been working for me fine now. About 2 weeks after I called Paypal about it weeks ago, it finally came back. I just used it yesterday on Ebay. The only thing is it only works for US sellers. You will not see it for overseas sellers, like Hong Kong, China, India, UK and so on. Just merchants in the US. Ebay is full of overseas merchants.  But, then I always knew that.

 

Well, I called Paypal when this was happening to me a while back and they told me that it is the merchants on Ebay who stopped taking it. I said What! Don't you pay the merchants right away and then you (Paypal) take it from my bank account 14 days later. She said well the merchant has to agree to do PAD.

 

 I immediately emailed a merchant back then that I regularly do business with and have always used PAD with her since it first came out and who is in the US and I asked her about that. She did not even know what I was talking about. The Ebay merchants have nothing to do with Paypals PAD.

 

I don't know what was going on with Paypal but there were so many different stories they were putting out as to why it was not working.

But, it is working fine for me now and I hope it stays working fine.

Hope you get things forted out with with your PAD issues.

Glad to hear from you. At least I know now that I was not the only one going through this crap with Paypal.
