...say on my debit card statement that I bought it from there?, or does it list it as a Paypal transaction? I wanna buy a present for a parent, but they still look at my monthly statements before sending it to my dorm. This would make it easy to tell what I got for them.

If using your debit card then it would be identified on the debit card statement.  If you are using your PayPal funds, then it would be on your PayPal account only and would identify the seller.

Are you paying with PayPal or are you paying direct with a debit card?

Either way, you can't conceal the seller's name.

I've got about 10 dollars on paypal, but I don't have the ability to add money to the paypal wallet. Instead, I want to spend everything in the wallet, then draw the rest through my debit card (but still through pay pal). What would it say on my statement?

It will probably give the name of the merchant.  It's needed for transaction records.
