I did not authorize Pay after Delivery. I DO NOT want it. I have called Paypal, but there is no option for not
having it; the recorded voice doesn't know what to do. I cannot find the option to deselect anywhere in my account summary.
I bought an expensive item, and the funds have not been transferred out of my bank account; it is a account reconciliation
nightmare. I never asked for Pay After Delivery and I don't want it. What can I do? I cannot wait for 45 minutes to
one and a half hours for a call back from Paypal ( I am disabled and cannot just answer the phone whenever). I have read other answers but my Account summary has no option for turning off Pay after Delivery it happens on everything from $5 to $500, Ugh! Any real help will be appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

Or when you check out, double check your payment method settings. Or go to your Wallet and select a different preferred payment method for your online purchases.
Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

I cannot find an option in my account summary to turn off or delete Pay after Delivery. So I am going to have much more money in my account for longer than my Disability status allows. This threatens my Disability support...and I hate the anxiety of waiting to see how it will all work out (excess noradrenalin is the crux of my disablity so all of this is making me sicker-great)
Per your suggestion, I went to the Wallet and selected my bank account as preferred payment (which it should have already been for years), but saw nothing about the Pay after Delivery. Paypal also changed my backup payment funding source and I can find no way to change that (unless it is for the Paypal Debit Card-whatever that is). They changed it to a card that I can only use for Medical expenses. I hope nothing is paid from it because it would then be closed to me.
I really appreciate your response. It shows much more attention then the one I got from Paypal which told me how to change my email address (???!). I haven't had many problems with Paypal since I joined in 1999, and I had forgotten how unnerving they can be - Oh, but wait, they also have my membership join date wrong on my account :/.
Thank you again. I am going to pay extremely close attention next time I buy anything.

Gosh, people were complaining that they can't use PAD all through last fall and Christmas, now people don't want it or didn't authorize it. Then yesterday's someone said PayPal was phasing a PAD out. It's a madhouse. The button to activate PAD is located in the Payments settings so it should be where you deactivate it. Otherwise, remove your bank account since you need bank account in order to use PAD. Not the ideal solution but something to try.
Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

Hello - I am having the same issue. When I go into "Settings" it tells me this:
However.... Every purchase I make is going through as PAD unless I choose Paypal credit.
Any ideas?
And thank you so much for replying!

In a similar here. I really cannot wait 14 days for an extra $400 to come out of my account and why would that be an option (that I never authorized) when sending money via friends and family. I'm not waiting on a gpackage. I could see it if I was actually purchasing something but not this. Is there not a way to change this transaction?
As far as turning it off, although I don't recall ever turning it on, I followed the path mentioned in some of the other posts (profile_payments) and it said I was eligible for PAD and to learn more so I clicked on it and it said it was turned on and that I could pause it. So I have paused it but this is never something I would have turned on on purpose. I will never activate this again unless I really need to wait on a package.

Hello, It has been awhile since I posted this problem. Fortunately (if disconcertingly), my Pay after Delivery stopped without my finding out how to stop it.
I can only think that it might have been the new automation (is it called One Touch?). In any case, I avoid anything automatic now and choose to go through each step of the buying process myself while paying verrrry close attention. I hope your situation has resolved as well. It is unnerving and potentially devastating to have one's financial control usurped by an online service that purports to provide secure facility.
