My husband account was credited money from a person by mistake. It was just a money transfer. We are having trouble finding how to return it since there is no decline option we can find. Also, PayPal has taken a few out and we are unsure how to get this resolved. Have we missed finding the proper links? His PayPal is a personal account. Thank you. Please respond quickly.

Don't rush to fix or it may be very costly.

First, figure out want happened.  Was it a simple payment or a payment as goods/service?  It makes a big difference.

What are the details of the transaction in his PayPal account on his computer?

Figure that the sender may file an unauthorized transacton dispute and get the money taken back.  If you were to send money separately now your money would be lost and you would ahve a chargeback fee.

Patience and serious analysis required before you make a decision.

We've been in contact with person who sent it. She sent it to us by mistake because my husband and her nephew share the same name. She asked us to decline it. But we cannot see what to do. Should she do it on her end? I would hate to wait long to fix this. Thanks. We are very new to workings of PayPal so trying to figure out who to contact and tell us step by step has been hard.

You can't deline it.

Was it friends/family or goods/services?  There is big difference on your options.

Ok, I don't know if I am saying this right but there is no way for us to know if it was a product or service. It only says "dinner" in the details. I said she sent it to us by mistake. I'm not sure where I am not answering the question of "product" or friends/family". We have no products we are selling so she didn't "buy" anything from us. I'm guessing she just transferred money to whom she thought was her nephew but was my husband instead.. I don't know how else to answer that question.

You can't just "transfer" money.

Since you don't really understand what is going on I would again suggesting take it slow and learn more about PayPayments, policies, protections, and more before you decide what to do as the wrong decision could be costly.

You need to figure out how to see the payment details.  If it was sent as products/services there will be fees displayed and information about shipping.  Sent as friends/family there will be no fees, but you still need to look at the details.

What the other part tells you is less important that what is showing in your PayPal account.  You need to understand your PayPal options, not what the sending party told you.  How well do you know the sending party?  Do you know their name and address and phone number?
