Accidental purchase of multiples of the same item

I was shoe shopping last night for a pair of vans that were on sale at FamousFootwear.com and when I went to check out the pair through Paypal I was given an error. I tried again and got the same result. After both times I check my bank account to make sure I wasn't charged for anything and until that point I wasn't. I then decided to close my browser and try again, and this time through traditional means of payment. Fortunately, it worked unfortunately however it seems my last two attempts went through. I'm posting here to see if theres a way I can be refunded for two of these purchases since it's apparent I didn't want three pairs of the same shoe haha. I contacted Famous Footwear via email minutes after realizing this so I decided to come on here first thing this morning.

First response should have been to immediately PHONE the merchant.  They have customers service people to handl that type of issues on the spot.  You still might have time to phone before the order is shipped.

Even so, your first attempt should be with the merchant.  It's not good to have disputes on your PayPal record when you could manage it with the merchant.  PayPal dispute is only for when all other options fail.
