problems resolving a fraudulent charge on my account

I notified Paypal by phone within hours on the day a fraudulent charge was made to my account.  I am in California and the charge was made in Arizona in a Foot Locker store.  I was assured that the issue would be investigated and resolved quickly.  It is now 3 days letter, the charge has hit my bank account, and all I have heard back from Paypal is that they have asked the seller for more information.

I'm very unhappy about this as I feel like my entire bank account is vulnerable to fraudulent charges in the meantime.

I cannot even figure out how to close out my Paypal account, and have asked for information about that.  I don't believe I am getting the prompt customer service response that is appropriate for a fraudulent charge against my account.

Certainly my credit card companies are much quicker to act.

I'd appreciate thoughts about how to escalate this within Paypal.  They are extremely difficult to reach real-time.

You have said there is a fraudulent charge but they have to have time to investigate it.

If you want to make your account secure change your password and security questions.

The most common way someone can access your paypal account is if you reply to a spoof email and give away your log in details.
