how can you find out how the customer paid?

Some of my hotspot customers pay with mastercard,  some with visa, some with american express and some with discover and some with paypal

Paypal payment details only shows the fee,  not exactly how they paid.

I need to see a breakdown of how the customers are paying

Unfortunately with Payments Standard or Payments Advanced, that's not possible. 

You would have to have Payments Pro in order to collect the type of information you're looking for.

Even if you don't have Payments Pro, you can get some basic info (e.g.: instant, eCheck, PayPal balance, etc) about the payments from the "Payment Type" field in Download History Report if you have a premier/business account. You can access the report from History->Download History. "Payment Type" is an optional field, so you need to add it to the report from the customization page (customize link is available on the right hand side of Download History page), if it is not already available in the report.

Yes, but, it does not identiy the type of card.

You are right Snowshoe. All I have mentioned is that we can get some basic info about the payment type, not the details like type of card :-).
