Hopefully you realize that is a member to member help group - with the exception of the forum monitors, the participants here are not PayPal employees.  Many of us are online business owners who volunteer out time to help out where we can.  If your goal is to challenge PayPal, go direct to the corporate office.  There's also the option to reach out through Twitter @AskPayPal or via Private Message on their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/PayPal - (both are monitored by full time employees).

.

What we do know about PAD is what is outlined in the User Agreement - per that information, there's no list of stores that offer PAD - the option is made available to the customer if certain criteria is met at the time of purchase.

very observant. Yes it was and is a challenge. But strength comes in numbers, so i am no closer to an answer  than before.

But your reply was the same as a true paypal employee. Thank you but yes i read the user agreement as did most of the people who goaded me into this forum. Still  WHAT constitutes an acceptable transaction? as it stands we have to purchase the item from anyone (including ebay) and if the option for PAD is not there we either have to  to dispute the transaction and not pay, or ask the seller to please wait 2 weeks for payment.

most will do as i have to now, wait until payday :_)

This may a member-to-member help forum, but there is precious little you can do to help - maybe you can offer a shoulder to cry on. PayPal arbitrarily activated the PAD option on a recent purchase I made. I normally pay via credit card instantly.  They paid the vendor (OK), but will charge my bank account in 14 days. I WANT TO USE MY CREDIT CARD AND PAY NOW.  I went through the "HELP" processs, talked to some guy (Chris) in a foriegn country and he said nothing could be done. That's bull. PayPal still has 13 days to reverse the payment source. They simply refuse to do it.. My answer from Chris was "Sorry, Sir, nothing can be done."

That's really great customer service - but typical, I believe.  Can anyone here help me?

SO JUST AN FYI. i have now given up on the PAD. I know i read that TWO (2) people have used it at wayfare and toysrus, so i went to wayfare.com and  toys r us. and ten more (33 total)  . NOPE no good.  tried 20$ to 600$ increments. so somehow this offer is not as it appears. oh well. PAY PAL IS STILL THE BEST WAY TO GO as it offers double protection. They should really keep the FRILLS down though as it can ruin PAYPALS reputation.

Yeah when you sign up they make it seem like it applies to all transactions. Go ahead, relax, you can pay after delivery! Enjoy your purchases now, pay later! Go crazy!

I bought a phone this morning thinking this was going to be the case. Then I received an email from the seller thanking me for the fast payment. I check my account only to see that it had been immediately paid through my bank account. The money that was in there was for my car payment and now I'm going to have to sell something in order to cover the difference.

Thanks P.A.D.!!! Smiley Mad

Everyone Says it works on ebay

i tried with 3 different items, 2 browsers, edited perfectly all my shipping address etc..

NO P.A.D. appeared on eBay. Actually, I didn't even get the option to use my linked bank account for an echeck either (so that's weird).

However, at that exact same time as I was checking out, my Paypal account settings showed my default payment preferences set to use "PAY AFTER DELIVERY as your default" and showed that as linked to my bank ACCT.

Would you believe that when I called the rep's name is supposedly John? Yeah right!!!!

Now, on topic.... The rep, John (hehehe), told me that P.A.D. is a new program and that PayPal does not as of yet have a list available of retailers that accept P.A.D. Then I do a Google search and find out that this program is at least a year old! So.... I am not too pleased about the smoke being blown up my **bleep**, but at the very minimum I was entertained by the rep's name being John.

On another note, is anybody else as disgusted with the 'new' webpage layout? Why must companies waste money on redesigning a website that is totally functional and is familiar with all of their customers?! Don't worry about this topic not being in the right place. It is not like a company listens to the community/customers when it comes to their feedback. It isn't like our dollars are the very thing that enables the company to exist. Nope, they naively believe it is shareholders.

That is my two cents. Maybe one of these days I can finally be approved for Bill Me Later instead of being told that I am not who I say I am. Yes, I am not me, even after verifying my accounts numerous times which is not exactly easy. Maybe they shoud also consider the amount of cash that flows through my accounts, the positive balances, the transactions that are always legitimate and the fact that I have been with them for years now! Funny how a company can advertise itself as though it is a company that issues micro loans to the everyday person, but yet they expect a credit score of 750. Silly company with there 20%+ APR and won't approve me for $250 line of credit.
