TRYING TO ISSUE REFUND-NOTHING IS WORKING

 PLEASE HELP!!!!! I HAVE A BUYER WHO PURCHASED 27 ITEMS THRU MY EBAY SITE THAT HE NOW WANTS TO RETURN. I HAVE ASKED HIM TO SEND THEM BACK IN TWO SHIPMENTS. THERE ARE NO DISPUTES BETWEEN THE BUYER AND SELLER, EVERYTHING IS AMICABLE. HOWEVER, BECAUSE HE OPENED DISPUTES/ASKED FOR RETURNS VIA EBAY, EVERYTHING WAS PUT INTO HOLD IN PAYPAL. SO FAR HE RETURNED 15 OF THE 27 ITEMS. WHEN I WENT INTO EBAY AND CLICKED ON "ISSUE REFUND" THE PAGE JUST REFRESHED AND NOTHING HAPPENED. WHEN HE THEN ELEVATED IT TO DISPUTES/SAYING HE NEVER RECEIVED THE REFUND, I HAD TO USE THE "SUBMIT" BUTTON TO GIVE THE REFUND, WHEN I HIT "SUBMIT" I RECEIVED A MESSAGE SAYING "REFUND FAILED FOR MORE INFO SEE PAYPAL."   WHEN I CLICK ON THE "SEE PAYPAL" LINK OF THAT MESSAGE IT TAKES ME TO A GENERIC PAGE WITH NO SPECIFIC INFO THAT IS OF ANY HELP/CONSEQUENCE.  I TRIED REFUNDING THE BUYER THRU PAYPAL INSTEAD, BUT SINCE THE ITEMS ARE IN DISPUTE AND THE MONEY IS BEING HELD, THERE IS NOT "ISSUE BUYER REFUND" LIINK IN THE TRANSACTION.  EBAY KEEPS SENDING ME NASTY EMAILS TELLING ME THEY ARE SIDING WITH THE BUYER AND THAT I AM RESPONSIBLE ETC AND HOW IT'S GOING TO EFFECT MY SELLER RATING. HOWEVER, ALL I WANT TO DO IS GIVE THE BUYER BACK HIS MONEY, BUT I CANT DO THAT. I DON'T WANT TO "SEND MONEY" BECAUSE THEN I DO NOT GET MY FEES REFUNDED IN PAYPAL, AND I HAVE TO CALL EBAY WITH THE PAYPAL TRANSACTION NUMBER SO THEY CAN CLOSE THE RETURN DISPUTE. HOWEVER WHEN THEY DO THAT, THEY DON'T TELL PAYPAL, SO PAYPAL THINKS I STILL OWE THE CUSTOMER THAT MONEY. IT'S A NO WIN SITUATION!!!!! HELP!!! PLEASE!!!! I'M LOSING MY MIND I'VE BEEN AT THIS FOR FOUR DAYS. PAYPAL SAYS ITS EBAY AND EBAYS SAYS IT'S PAYPAL. OVER 3 HOURS ON THE PHONE ALREADY AND GETTING NO WHERE!!! HELP!!!! THANK YOU!!!!

You should be able to refund during a dispute in PayPal, that is the whole point of it.  It doesn't let you refund through eBay either?  But then again something is not making sense, the buyer can't file both a eBay dispute and PayPal dispute at the same time.

 

Did the eBay dispute/return close already or still open?

 

Unfortunately, you need to call either eBay or PayPal to close one of the disputes/get this sorted.  This is a user forum and there is nothing we can do as we do not have access to people's accounts.

THANK YOU. I KNOW THERE IS NOTHING ANYONE HERE CAN DIRECTLY DO. MY CRIES FOR HELP ARE OUT OF FRUSTRATION. I AM LOOKING FOR DIRECTION. I HAVE CALLED AND SPENT CLOSE TO 3 HOURS ON THE PHONE. EBAY BLAMES PAYPAL. PAYPAL BLAMES EBAY AND THEY KEEP TRANSFERRING ME BACK AND FORTH TO EACH OTHER. NO ONE ON EITHER END KNOWS WHAT TO DO AND NO ONE HAS A CLUE. I WAS HOPING SOMEONE ON THIS FORUM HAD SUGGESTIONS. I'M OUT OF IDEAS AND TOTALLY DONE. I'VE BEEN AT THIS FOR 4 DAYS. Smiley Sad

You need to take a asprin, a deep breath, then call either eBay or PayPal and ask to speak with a dispute specialist who knows what they are doing.

THANKS FOR THE SUGGESTION. I'VE SPENT OVER 3 HOURS ON THE PHONE AN THEY JUST KEEP PASSING ME BACK AND FORTH TO EACH OTHER. PAYPAL BLAMES EBAY AND EBAY BLAMES PAYPAL. NO MATTER WHO I SPEAK TO THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING. Smiley Mad
