Rework The PayPal Gift Invoice System

Hi i was recently scammed for my virtual items worth 230$ and was done mainly in part that the user sent an invoice which is from the actual paypal site

http://imgur.com/ExUHAxO

it seemed legit and the kicker was the term and conditions which seems to be able to be personally editited which also gave him time to delay exchange and explain if the money didnt show immediately

paypal should stop false invoices and dont allow alteration of terms and conditions

I also assume its that the money he "sent" is totally unobtainable from his account which sent the fake invoice?

RIP 230$ and merry christmas to me

Smiley Sad to late now but >>

Signs its a scam are >>>

its an invoice BUT sellers send invoices not buyers

marked as paid

marked as gift

says payment won't show in your balance for eg 24 hours

can't be chargedback.

Paypal NEVER tell you to send anything until the funds are showing in your paypal account balance.

Paypal payments are more or less instant.

Paypal will never tell you that a payment can't be subject to a chargeback if thats what scammers are still putting on invoices.

I wish i would have known sooner Smiley Sad

Can paypal at least ban the account he used to send the invoice? Sending a "paid" invoice should already be a sign of fraud.

I dont want anyone else to experience this and it will atleast inconveince him

By all means report him to paypal but i can't say what they will do, but if they have a few reports of bad behaviour on his account you never know your luck and they may ban him.
