Not receiving some payment notifications

I sent 2 gift payments to 2 separate people yesterday. Both I and the recipient received email notifications for the FIRST transaction. For the 2nd payment, neither I nor the recipient received notification--but the payment did go through.

What happened?

I sent money today for the first time, and then transferred money to my bank account.  I needed a copy of the confirmation email for the money I sent, but it never showed up!  The verification of the payment to my bank arrived just fine.

What is going on with the notifications?

I too am not receiving my email payment notifications from paypal. I have always received them for years and now once in awhile they never appear. Its a real pain to keep checking my paypal account  to see it an item has been paid for. I have not changed my email address or any preferences. I rely on these to alert me to payments, what gives?
