March - $5 back if you spend $50

I signed up for a PayPal promotion that said (I was notified by email) that if I spend $50 or more in the month of March, 2016, I'd get $5 back. So I threw in a pair of socks on an order to get $5 back, figuring they'd be technically free to me anyhow, but I never got the $5 back.

I've asked PayPal support about it, and they said they'd respond within 24 hours, but they never responded.

Anyone else have this problem? It's not really about the $5; it's about being lied to (if that's the case) and PayPal not keeping good on their deal. If this was a dishonest move on PayPal's part, they probably made a good chunk of cash off of it.

What were the details of the offer?  Getting $5 back generally wouldn't mean a $5 discount; it would more likely mean getting the $5 back at  later date, perhaps with conditions on where it could be spent. You really need to look at the details of the offer.

The only stipulations were that I use PayPal to pay $50 or more for something. I read the conditions of the deal very carefully before making my purchase. I'm aware it wouldn't mean a discount. I clearly stated in my post that I expect $5 back, meaning at a later time. The deal stated that PayPal would give me $5 back after the promotion ended March 31, but I've seen nothing from them in my PayPal activity nor my bank account, and it's a month later.
