Error with Android App

Been using the check deposit system for about three months and been very happy with it.

Recently did a update and keep getting the error:

Unable to update license acceptance  Unknown error (-10005)

Any help would be appreciated.

Same issue here.  Tried reinstalling Paypal app, different error message, but still can't Add Funds From Check. Samsung Captivate CM7.

Same problem. Samsung Galaxy S2.

This started out as "unable to download check transaction history". I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and when asked to accept the license agreement I get:

Error

Unable to update license acceptance

Unknown error (-10005)

Like others this prevents me from depositing checks into my Paypal account, which had previously been working fine. 😞

I have been using check capture for some time now.  Tried to go to the check capture section and couldn't even load previous checks...

"unable to download check transaction history"

removed and reinstalled, tried to accept the check capture agreement...

Unknown error (-10005)

This function and online payments from FreshBooks are the main reasons I use PayPal as much as I do. (Advantage Member status)

Without this feature, a part of my business is crippled.

I called Paypal tech support today. I was told they are aware of the exact problem but don't have an ETA for it being fixed and they don't expect any notices to be sent out. I specifically asked to be contacted when this is fixed but was essentially told "Maybe..."

Based on how long Paypal has taken between Android update releases, I would plan to find alternate methods for depositing checks for the foreseeable future. The only good news is that it's possible this is an internal Paypal issue, and that the app itself is not flawed. If so they can fix it from within so that we don't all have to wait for the next Paypal update.

Otherwise here is a list of banks that have an app for check capture. Perhaps this may serve as an incentive for Paypal to fix the problem... Personally I only used it because I already had the app loaded on my phone. There are certainly other options for photo based check deposit, some of which may offer quicker deposit posting as well.

Thank you Jstanley1 for the list, I opened an account with DFCU on friday since I cant afford to loose this feature as my current CU is over 2000 miles away. I can use Co-Op atms but the neared is 42 miles from my house. Since I needed to deposit a check today I drove 84 miles round trip (since my DFCU pin has not arrive in the mail yet). I guess PayPal is just going to do things in their own time, meanwhile my life and financial matters must go on. Their loss, not mine.
