Can't Link Netspend Card To Paypal Account

I recently got a Visa Netspend card.  After a lengthy activation process, I finally got the card up and running.  However, I still cannot get it to link to my Paypal account after weeks of trying.  When I attempt to link it, I get a message that says "Sorry, we are not able to process your request. Please try again later."  I'm following Netspend's directions to the letter but keep getting this error message on Paypal's site.  Here's what the rest of the error screen shows:

 

"By continuing, you agree to let PayPal send and retrieve 2 small deposits.

This bank account may be used as your default payment method. To learn how to change your preferences, view PayPal policies and your payment method rights."

 

I cannot get beyond this screen.  Why? 

 

Both my Paypal and Netspend accounts are in good standing.  I've tried clearing my cache and using a different browser to link the accounts, but nothing works.  I even tried using the Classic Site to link them but I just get a different error message ("An unknown service error occurred.") Do you have to have a working bank account to link a Netspend card to Paypal?  I'm not trying to use the Netspend card to verify my Paypal account; I just want to be able to move money from Paypal to Netspend.

 

I'm beyond frustrated and need these accounts to link!  Thanks in advance for your help.

I also was having trouble linking my netspend card to paypal. I contacted paypal and netspend. Paypal only kept sending me generic, automated emails explaining how to "link a bank". Netspend sent this message...

So, evidently you are unable to link a netspend card even though netspend gives specific instructions on their site on how to do this.

It's my understanding that when adding Netspend to your PayPal account, it should be added as a bank account, and therefore you will need a routing number and an account number for your Netspend account.

 

Your routing number will be nine digits long and your account number may range from three to 17 digits. Do you have both of those numbers for your Netspend account?

I am aware of this but that doesn't work. Once you click on "link a bank", enter routing and checking numbers you receive a message basically telling you your request can not be processed. I know how to link a bank (I have one linked with my paypal account) but it will not let you link the netspend card.

Yeah, so Paypal kindly informed me that it's not possible to link a Netspend card to your Paypal account.  Would've been nice to know that before spending an entire afternoon setting up a Netspend account, but whatever.  My friend had no trouble linking the two accounts, but I guess Paypal decided to stop doing business with Netspend at some point without telling anyone.  My Netspend card is now worthless to me. 

 

In the future, a little transparency would be nice.  And why is Netspend still offering the option to link your card to Paypal if it's not possible?  Sounds like false advertising to me.

Guys please help me! I sent the money from my PayPal to my networks card because I thought it was working, but now it has taken the money out of my PayPal and my net spend account has no money to show and it's been nearly three days. Could any of you help me try to get the money back in my account? Out point me where to go?

You either wait several days or more for it to return or you phone PayPal customer service for help.
