Blocking eChecks

I looked at the other posts on this as well as an internet search but they all say to do this
Block the following payments:
[x] Pay with eCheck for website and Smart Logo payments, or German bank transfer for all website payments except eBay. NOTE: You may not block eCheck payments on eBay.
That is not one of my options - the only block payment option I have is to block payments from what looks like Union Pay- it is a box with red and blue with Union pay in white writing.
any suggestions?

Welcome to the forums!
It sounds like maybe you need to upgrade your account. I'm thinking you have a personal account; premier or business accounts are designed to accept payments, so they have a little more flexibility when it comes to managing your payments. Originally personal accounts weren't necessarily designed to have incoming payments, so some of the functionality isn't there. And by the way, there's no extra cost or anything if you upgrade, so you don't have to worry about that. 😉
Right below your name on your account homepage, you'll have the type of account, and to the right a link that says upgrade. Click on that, provide any information it may ask for, and you should have the ability to block echecks, as well as some other features.
Hope that helps!
Andy

If you already have a Business account, you sure can! The setting is in your Profile > My Selling Tools > Block payments. Please note this won't affect eBay payments.
Thanks!

I read the answer supplied by PAY_PAL_ANDY concerning blocking echecks. I hjave a premier account, and can't find the location to do the blocking option. What am I doing wrong?

Welcome to the Community!
If you're still having problems locating it, try going to Settings > Selling Tools > Update beside Block Payments under "Getting paid and managing my risk" > find the selection for eCheck and click Save.

Thanks Adrian (not Andy)
I got there. I see that I can't block echecks from eEbay though. That is the problem I have been waiting almost a week for a $267 payment to clear. This is getting to the point of being royally PO'd. PAYPAL is holding this up.

Hi azcatlv,
That's unfortunate that your payment hasn't cleared yet US bank transfers can take 3-5 business days (weekends/holidays don't count) to arrive; the delay in an eCheck versus a normal instant bank transfer typically occurs when a buyer hasn't registered a credit or a debit card to their PayPal account. Please note that this delay isn't something held up by PayPal, but is reflective of the normal processing times we encounter to receive a bank transfer. You might share this tip with your buyer so that they have less issues in the future
Thanks!
Adrian
