Refund

Hello everyone

So there's a bit of a situation here. I sent someone some money and now we both agreed on a refund. However from what I can find and from what I've searched, there's no way I can request a refund without contacting them. Now, I can contact them but their account is apparently locked for 180 days? It was limited or something I think. So how can she send the money back if she can't do anything on it and I have no way? I don't really want to wait 6 months to get it back.

Thanks.

Yes but what option did you choose, did you send it as goods / services OR friends / family?

Ok she blocked me now so I can't talk to her. Apparently she was sending paypal emails about this too though. Do I need to open up a transaction dispute? Cause I don't know if she'll agree to give me it back now

Hi, “gift” or “personal” payments are intended as transfer of funds from family or friends to one another. For this reason, there is no processing fee when payment is made with bank or PayPal balance.

On the other hand, as it is a “personal” payment, there is also no Buyer protection as no goods or services should have been exchanged.

If he was not a close mate or family member you should never use that option as it enables the seller to evade his paypal fees and negates your buyer protection at the same time.

Scam sellers often ask for payment that way as they know this.

Your only hope is if you funded your paypal payment via a credit card then contact your card issuer and see if they will help you.
