Canadian Refund Hold Wait Time?

I made a purchase with a Canadian company via eBay and unfortunately there was a problem with the order and I was refunded my entire amount of just over $100 Canadian. However there was a hold put on the refund and now I'm waiting for it to process and return to my bank or PayPal balance... How long should this hold last given that both myself and the company I bought from are based in Canada?
It may be important to note that the Instant Payment purchase amount had already been removed from my bank account when the refund and hold was initiated.

Hi ACPP,
I had a similar problem as can be found https://www.paypal-community.com/t5/About-My-Account/Accidental-withdrawal-from-wrong-funding-source...
It took PayPal, (and possibly my bank) approximately 4-5 business days for all of the processes to complete. Once PayPal has sent the refund, it may take up to 7 business days for your bank to process everything. For now, you should just wait it out. After 7 business days if there are still no funds I would contact both PayPal customer service and your bank.

I'm quite upset about this to be honest. It's been about 5 days now since the refund, about 9 since the initial purchase. The Instant Transfer had cleared from my bank account by the time the refund was sent. I know PP doesn't really care that people are being inconvenienced like this, but it's really made a whole lot of trouble in my life. I sent an email to PP support about this and was told the money would be returned to my PP balance by "October ##, ####".... That's actually what was in the email, no actual date, just "#" symbols where there should have been numbers. That provided ZERO help. I suspect it was a form letter meant to be filled in with specifics and ... wasn't.

When you say it's been five days, are you counting weekends? Because only business days can be included. I also want to let you know that Holidays such as thanksgiving can delay even further any transaction.

I've had my own bank say it could take up to 21 business days (to limit their liability), however I've not had to wait more than a few days myself. I think the best thing to do for you is to simply wait another week. I know its a huge inconvenience, but unfortunately these things are the way they are.
