What is my Spending Limit?

Where do I find my spending limit for purchases with PP? I can't find anything with the new design....   I have instant transfers from my bank account enabled and would like to make a purchase of several hundred dollars. Is there a limit on my spending?   Also, if the money I want to spend is in my bank account, do I need to confirm anything there? Do banks ever stop large PP transactions or are they just viewed as a check or something?   Thank you ... View more

I'm a bit confused as to how PP uses different currency. I bought something yesterday with 40 bucks CAN in my account as well as 25 bucks USD in my account. The transaction was in Canadain yet it only used the 40 dollars that showed up in CAN and the USD 25 was left. Thankfully I have instant transfer so the remainer that should have been coverd by the 25USD jsut came out of my bank account.   Why didn't PP use all the currency in my PP account for the payment? And how do I make sure it does next time? Do I need to go in and manually convert it before I make purchases?   Thank you! ... View more

I'm quite upset about this to be honest. It's been about 5 days now since the refund, about 9 since the initial purchase. The Instant Transfer had cleared from my bank account by the time the refund was sent. I know PP doesn't really care that people are being inconvenienced like this, but it's really made a whole lot of trouble in my life. I sent an email to PP support about this and was told the money would be returned to my PP balance by "October ##, ####".... That's actually what was in the email, no actual date, just "#" symbols where there should have been numbers. That provided ZERO help. I made a purchase with a Canadian company via eBay and unfortunately there was a problem with the order and I was refunded my entire amount of just over $100 Canadian. However there was a hold put on the refund and now I'm waiting for it to process and return to my bank or PayPal balance... How long should this hold last given that both myself and the company I bought from are based in Canada?    It may be important to note that the Instant Payment purchase amount had already been removed from my bank account when the refund and hold was initiated.  ... For anyone interested, the official reply from PayPal is that this is another way to verify the card is active, and that the charge will be refunded withing 24 hours (business days). However, that's not happened as of right now. ... View more
