hi there,
im busy with my starting clothing line.
i'm currently working with a supplier/manufacturer (in this case the seller) in china of clothing. I pay my samples and products with paypal but they also give me the bill for a paypall fee. I was wondering if this is correct that I as a customer have to pay the paypall fee (if there is one) or if the manufacturer has to pay this paypall fee. because i know when somebody (customer) buys something from me (seller), i have to pay a small percentage to paypall if the customer does the payment transition on paypall, is this the paypall fee im paying now? ow and just to make thing clear the first time i paid for samples the fee stated it was 88 usd.
hope to hear from somebody
thanks Tris

It is against PayPal policy for a seller to impose a surcharge to cover the seller fee.
This is from PayPal policies for the seller:
"No surcharges
You agree that you will not impose a surcharge or any other fee for accepting PayPal as a payment method. You may charge a handling fee in connection with the sale of goods or services as long as the handling fee does not operate as a surcharge and is not higher than the handling fee you charge for non-PayPal transactions."

thank you very much this is much clearer to me.
i have only one more question.
what do you mean by:
You may charge a handling fee in connection with the sale of goods or services as long as the handling fee does not operate as a surcharge and is not higher than the handling fee you charge for non-PayPal transactions."
greetings Tristano

Any handling fee must apply to both PayPal payments and to buyers paying by other payment types. This is for the seller. There is no way of knowing this as seller will not disclose business finances.
In your case the seller stated it was for PayPal fees so it is NOT allowed.
