buyer does not pay fees, sellers do.

Paypal is a payment processor,it accepts payment from the buyer and pass it on to  you, buyer can use his credit card, which has fees, bank fund or paypal fund, paypal offers buyer and seller protection and keeps the site running.

if you dont want to pay fees, ask for cash, money order or check and skip Paypal

The reason why sellers use Paypal is that many buyers prefer to use credit card, and it is costly for an indvidual so called weekend warrior to apply for a merchant account to accept credit cards.

Paypal is not cheap 30 cents transaction plus 2.9-4.4% discount rate ,but there is no commitment,if you dont use it,you dont pay any fee,no annual or monthly fixed or minimum fee.

If you have steady sales and comited to your business long term, look into applying for a merchanta ccount, discount rate would be lower, check them out.
