PayPal declining American Express payments

Anyone else having issues receiving American Express payments?  PayPal does not have an answer for us.  American Express is declining until the customer can call their bank and call us back to try the card a second time.  This becomes a real issue when the card processes for the initial order and then will not process for any items added to the order and another call has to go to the customer to call their bank a second time.

Had the same problem. Amex told me that they decline Paypal charges because they suspect their card is being used to transfer cash and that's not what it is for. I no longer use them.

I was trying to buy a couple of things and all purchases are been decline with the American Express Gift Cards..... So we won't be able to use them???

You will have to call the number on your card. You should be able to use them once the call has been made.

I don't understand. You go to a store, show the AmEx card and it is declined?

You go to an online store and try to use the AmEx card (separate from PayPal) and the card is declined?

What does it have to do with PayPal?  It's an AmEx card.
