We use multiple devices on any given day .. and am hoping the BT chip reader can pair with more than one deivce and keep the pairings? Cleary we can clear and liekly re-pair ... but many new BT devices can keep track of multiple pairings . .still one at a time ... but quickly be moved from one device to the next.

Not at the same time.
The reader will need to be linked to an active PayPal Here account. You would need to unpair the reader so it could then be paired with a different device and different PPH active account on another device.

Thanks for the quick answer. We use the same PP account on multiple devices ... but will likely slave the device to one primary device.
Might be a nice feature if easy in future devices or updates. For example my BT radio slaves to all my BT devices ... as long as I have propery paired. Same with my headset across 2 or 3 different devices.
But do very much appreciate the quick answer. Didnt' have the time to trial and error.

I don't understand how it could work. If you take a simple BT speaker, for example, how can you make it live to two separate devices?
For the card reader, it would need to know which device is active. What would happen if 2 of your devices had operators processing sales simultaneously, how would it be manged? There would need to be a queu forcing one customer to wait while processing a payment. Each one would also need similulatantous communication with the PPH host service. Ithink it would be a huge app development issue and a hardware design for the reader.
For the PC, two PC's can access the same wireless printer, but that's easy enough for the computer to hold a printer queu until the printer is ready. In person sales can't wait as they need to process in real time.

The devices I currently have work pretty simply "using" the same BT device, i.e. they don't share it at the same time for some of the same reasons you list below ... plus in those cases it just wouldn't work right.
Our use model would be ... someone going out on the job grabs the card reader and already either has an approved personal device or a company smart phone or company tablet. Thus in most cases the potential devices that all have pairing pre-established are not in the same BT zone and shouldn't ever attempt to access the device at the same time.
As far as my headset and my waterproof BT boombox speaker ... the use and setup/control model is relatively stragiht forward. You first must pair a device (say smartphone) with the unit. The unit "does" have a pairing "limit". I think in both cases it's like the last 5 devices to pair are kept in memory of the device. Then in general as the source or mobile device goes live that has been paired prior ... even if it's BT is on, the receiver on the radio/headset is arleady active paried and in operation so it's not looking/scanning for previously paired devices. However, if I turn off device A source, then the recevier/radio starts to look for a prior paired device like normal startup/use and first one it finds it gloms onto (tech term 🙂 ) ... and now is solo. If I turn it off it seeks again ... and continues to do that process.
My jawbone and Exogear both support the concept of multi-device hosts and using them even with mutliple paired devices (ok me and the kids phones) ... works pretty reliably. If I want to re-capture the device I make them turn off the BT or go 50 feet away for a minute and all is mine again. But is funny when/if my phone runs out of battery juice ... all of a sudden their device takes over and music unfit for my ears comes out of my device. LOL

OK. That's a little different. My BT speaker only has one connection at a time. I do use it with my Android smartphone and tablet separately. If both devices are nearby when I turn on the speaker, the last connected will reconnect, so I just disable BT on the device I don't want to use
That's the same way the PPH BT works. I've used it with smartphone and tablet, but not simultaneously. It automatically reconnects to the last one if that is the only device on. If I don't want it to connect, I just disable BT on that device. I might have to mannually reconnect to the other device.
I have a separate wifi hotspot for my tablet.
Is that what you want to happen?

Your 100% spot on.
I may even have my own phone and tablet with me on a job, and it would be nice to be able to pick which one I use for the CC capture .. most likely based on which one is currently being used or visible to client. It's not a huge deal, but to be safe I'll have to keep it with my phone as that is 100% likely to be with me ... table is 70% 🙂
Right now I can use either for hand entries ... to be honest didn't try with the old card reader. The BT option just makes this so easy and convenient (hand over the reader only) that today on a job I was suddenely wantitng to have the BT reader paried to my tablet, but was alrady working and paired to my phone so thought I would ask!
Thanks again. It's a very nice new addition ... I hated handing over my phone with attached reader to client. Felt flee market cheesey (no offence to flee market lovers intended, just where I usually saw that type of reader!

If you really want to be more "professional" and business-like get a Woosime bluetooth receipt printer. I have one I just print a receipt for the buyer and never bother error-prone email. Personally, as a buyer, I hate email receipts; I want a paper receipt. The blue printer has a belt clip if you need it. Cost is about $200.
