Paymebt Status: "Denied. You chose not to accept this payment."

I have a business account with PayPal in the US.
I sent an invoice to a fellow in Italy.
He paid the invoice but the status reads "Denied. You chose not to accept this payment."
I was not even given the option to deny or accept, it was done automatically.
The money is not in my account.
I have sent invoices to Italy and other countries before without any issues. This is the first time it was problematic.
What can I do to accept the funds?

Suggest that you have someone from customer support check your Profile Account settings, i.e., Block Payments and Managing Risk and Fraud. It's even possible there's an issue the sender's account, unfortunately that would have to be considered too. As this is a member to member help group, no one here can view user account info or transaction details, only customer support can do that.
