Business name change

I have a limit on my account because I am supposed to change my business name registered to my account to my actual first and last name. Paypal sent an email saying:

The contact name must be your name, not your business's name.
To process your name change request, we require additional information. Please provide:

1. A letter requesting the contact name change for your business account. Please specify the previous name on your account and the new name to be added to the account.
2. A valid photo ID for the new contact person. Acceptable forms of a photo ID include a driver's license, passport, or any other government-issued photo identification that includes their date of birth.
3. Proof of Social Security Number for the new contact person. Acceptable documents of proof include a copy of the new contact person's Social Security card, pay stub, W-2, or IRS Statement, providing they show the full social security number.
4. One of the following acceptable forms of Proof of Business Information that includes both the business name and the new contact name:
   • Articles of Incorporation
   • Current business license
   • Any business documents/forms approved by and filed with the business's governing state
   • A bank statement for the bank account registered on the PayPal account.

If the documentation above does not display the name of business and the new contact person, a name change authorization is required additionally. The Authorization letter must contain letterhead, company stamp, and signature of Director/ legal authorizer.

How am I supposed to provide all of that information when this is not a legalized business? I am a stay at home mom printing shirts and sewing clothing. I am not a licensed business, I am a small shop making extra money for my family by designing clothing and selling it to my customers. Why do I have to involve a SSN when this is not government related, I do not feel comfortable doing that.

Info in link above, if you are not comfortable giving paypal the information that they require then you don't have to continue to use paypal if you don't want to.

I wish I could stop using them but I have hundreds of dollars that are still on the account that I need withdrawn before I can close my account.

You are making money selling items; that means you are a business and subject to all of the income tax reporting required by PayPal.  You will need to provide the documentation if you want to continue your business relationship with PayPal.

PayPal is asking for legal information from me but I am a stay at home mom doing sewing and selling as a passtime. The government has nothing to do with the money I am making. I did not register my business or legalize it.

if you do not have a valid answer that can assist me then stfu! You're a volenteer and I do not need a reply from you go bother someone else. You're not even getting paid to be an **bleep** you're sitting around making unprofessional comments go find something to do with your life that contributes to society! I am contributing society by sewing affordable clothing for moms and i bet you can't say that same. Go get a job it's not rocket science.

Neither is the ability to provide the information paypal require OR stop using it without starting multiple threads all saying the same thing !!!!

Actually, the government requires reporting of ALL income and that includes from you home sales
