Forward it to spoof@paypal.com Scammers may ask for your PayPal email address AND your name (which is not needed as senders usually see your name anyway if they really paid in the transaction details) when they are making payment so they can make fake emails like this. When PayPal emails the confirmation, the info contained in the email is very basic (who paid, for what (if provided), how much and shipping address if applicable) and they don't give you "instructions" or communicate back and forth via email over holds. PayPal DOES NOT hide payments asking you to pay a third party, buy a gift card, add a tracking number BEFORE showing you payment in your account. Any payment subject to hold will show in your PayPal account in pending balance with a record of transaction. If you do not see a payment your account, you have not been paid. Ignore email and move on. If contact persists, tell them that you do not see payment even if temporary hold and you have to contacted PayPal.
