Login failure, PayPal Bahamas, time out, Details: ...

Using either Chrome or Edge on neither my Widows 10 pc, nor my Windows 10 Laptop, nor my Android 13 phone, I can't log into my Bahamas PayPal account online, although I can access it on the app on my cell phone. I have no problem logging into my UK PayPal account. (I don't like the app, I can never find my balance.) I get to the login screen, I enter my email and password, a rotating circle pops up, then it eventually times out without access.  I see "error 503 first byte timeout" and "error 54113 Details: cache-lis1490051-LIS 1718469665 1686833846". I have emptied the cache and tried everything that I can find except changing my password, but I can't see that that could be the problem, since I don't see the appropriate message.  I am logging in from Portugal.  The strangest thing is that once I have been timed out, I find it difficult to get to the login page, or any PayPal page again.  The browser simply fails to respond.  I have to try again later.  This happens with my PC (connected by cable), my Laptop (connected via WiFi, and my cell phone whether WiFi or data.  My data and cable internet are provided by different ISPs.  I can access sites hosted in the Bahamas.  The issue has been continuing for several weeks. ... Automatic payments and One Touch Payments.

I received an email from PayPal giving details of changes to One Touch.  They have made it unnecessary to log in to use One Touch.  They say that I should turn off One Touch if I lose my device.  I don't think this is safe: I would have to remember to turn it off, along with a myriad other things I might need to do.  I doubt I would remember.  I decided to turn off One Touch following their directions, but their directions didn't work.  There is no sign of "One Touch" under "Security".  How, then, do I do it? Whilst trying to turn off One Touch, I came across "Automatic Payments".  I checked those and found some that shouldn't be there.  I want to delete them, but there is no way to edit them that I can see.  A search turned up a method, but again it couldn't work because there was no "PayPal credit" on the left hand side of the page, or anywhere else that I could see.  So how do I delete them? OK, I found the answer to that!  One just clicks on the appropriate logo for the company (e.g. Skype).  A button labelled "Edit" or "Manage" would have been clearer! These discoveries have made me scared of PayPal.  I am not sure I should continue to use it.  There might be other "features" that I don't know about, and that could cost me money without my being aware of it.  Convenience is all well and good, but not if it makes the system as opaque as it appears to be.
