So this morning I woke up to one of the nightmare scenarios that everyone who has a Paypal account dreads: I got the account restricted email from Paypal. I logged in to my account, and yes, it is restricted. Reason? One politically related question, whether I'm affiliated with anyone holding any political status or if I'm involved in politics at all. A simple yes/no question, to which I answers with no, of course, since I'm as far from politics as I can. Never cared about it at all.
I have a Paypal account since before 2000, which is many, many years. Because of this, I heavily rely on it for my day-to-day personal and working business (e.g. my monthly website hosting, domain, etc, which will take my site offline if they're not paid in the next 12 days, which is when the subscription is usually paid. Paypal didn't require anything else but this one question.
When I go to the resolution center, I get a message "Thank you for providing all the required information. You're all set, your account is back to normal".
But when I go back to my account overview it's still saying the account is severely limited, so nothing is really lifted.
So I clicked again on Resolution Center, and I see the account limitation message again, but I see no open cases (0), closed case (0), being reviewed by Paypal (0), so basically there doesn't seem to be any case at all...
Any idea what is going on or how can I speed things up to avoid disruption of services I'm subscribed to? I'm really worried, to be honest.
