hello, I have an issue with a refund for a purchase made over ebay.
I bought a backpack over ebay and when it came, it was not the one I bought.
I contacted the seller, he acknowledged the mistake - then I opened a case over ebay (return the item), and the seller accepted the return.
After he received the backpack, seller covered the extra postage cost and started the refund.
After a couple of days I receive two emails from paypal - first, stating that the refund is taking too long and that they will inquire the case - and shortly after second email stating that the refund was not processed successfully at the sender's side - and that the refund is canceled.
I cannot open a case on the refund nor on the original transaction since paypal treats this as a closed case.
On ebay status is unchanged - the refund is being processed, but their 3-5days estimate on refund has passed - yet I cannot report this to ebay, it does not give me this option.
I contacted seller - he claims he contacted paypal and they admitted to this as a mistake by them and that they will fix the problem asap - yet there is no change in status, nor have I received no news from paypal on the subject.
It is a nightmarish scenario, whom can I contact to try to solve this? I have all the correspondence, emails and screenshots to back up my claim - but I cannot open a dispute..
