Hi, I sell downloads for computer games through my own website. All sales go through paypal and all orders are sent out as file attachments via email. If the customer is new I always email them for confirmation they are happy to proceed with the order. I have just had a case where a new customer purchased some items from me using paypal, I emailed him to check that he was happy to proceed with the order. He confirmed he was. I sent the files to him as two attachments in separate emails. Two weeks later he puts in a claim to paypal that someone else used his card without his permission. Paypal have refunded the card and charged me 50% of the sales cost for dealing with the case. So my question is, as I did absolutely nothing wrong but have ended up losing my none returnable goods and been charged 50% of the sales price is there anything I can do to protect myself from this happening again? If I had used something similar to yousendit with proof that I sent the files and the email address used to make payment through paypal received the files would it make any difference to protecting me? Any help much appreciated. GP Locomotives.
