PayPay Credit mistakes

PayPal Credit needs a big class action lawsuit. They intentionally make claims and disputes difficult to avoid crediting accounts. I am talking about constant disconnections, length hold times, failed transfers, failed promised callbacks. In a nutshell, PayPal is doing everything they can hoping you will give up on disputed charges or credits for their mistakes. I suggest people document hold times, failed transfers, etc.,then contact their representatives, FTC, and Consumer Reports. (Don’t bother wasting your time with BBB; PayPal hotshot is on their Board.) If we all complain to outside parties, maybe we can get a big class action lawsuit and be compensated for our frustrations. Someone like FTC or Consumer Reports needs to do a Secret Shopper thing with PayPal to see how they operate. PayPal is making a TON OF MONEY by people just giving up on getting theirs claims settled. Paypal credit “available credit” is misleading.

I ordered through Grubhub ($23 order)using my PayPal credit as payment. At the time, my account showed nearly $150 “available credit”. However, in spite of indicating $150 available credit, the transaction was declined because I was a little over a month behind on payments. My problem here is it is misleading to say “available credit” if it is not available. I suspect this is intentional. Instead of allowing my GrubHub order to be completed, PayPal credit re-routed my order to my bank (Chase, not Synchrony). Chase covered the amount which caused an overdraft which cost me $35 fee. If the PayPal credit wasn’t available, it should not have stated “available”. This is misleading. I’m filing a complaint with BBB and elsewhere on this one. ... View more

I recently attempted to transfer funds from my Paypal debit acct. to the KY Lottery for legal online gambling. It was denied by Paypal because of the online gambling. I am surprised that Paypal has the right to decide how I spend my money. Have others had any experience with this. I could easily see this being a class action lawsuit in the future. ... View more

More than five weeks since my account was frozen, keeping me from transferring my Paypal funds to Paypal-Prepaid.  Have spent hours trying to get them to fix it.  Paypal is a mess.  I encourage everyone whose account gets frozen, with no explanation, to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the Federal Trade Commission.  Maybe with enough complaints we can get a class action lawsuit and make Paypal accountable.  I have contacxted them by phone and online more than 60 times in the past five weeks.  This is absurd. ... What I know is that Paypal and Paypal-Prepaid are not dependable and ultimately a pain in the **bleep**. They freeze accounts at their whim with no explanation ot apology. Avoid them like the plague. I look for a big class-action lawsuit involving them so I encourage everyone treated unfairly to be very vocal and be sure to get your online complaint filed with Better Business Bureau. Ummm, a "Volunteer Advisor"?  You sit round on a weekend "volunteering" your Paypal knowledge for free?  You love Paypal so much you just want to "help out"?   Sorry, dude, I don't buy that.  I suspect you are in fact having to work Saturdays at Paypal headquarters in San Jose because no one else wanted to.  I can see you in your little cubicle now. Does anyone else in the community find it odd that the person who defended Paypal's errors in the previous responses had an answer for every question, except #4:  Are you employeed by Paypal or associates?  Interesting, and says a lot!  I intend to stay on this board and let the community know the progress, or lack of it.  I encourage others to do the same. 1) I don't know that that is necessarily true.   2) Because a company does not have to do business with a person does not mean they can do whatever they want.  I would guess that those companies who have been successfully sued did not have to do business with those customers either. 3) Facts in my case are:  My account frozen without warning (unable to transfer funds from Paypal.com to Paypal-Prepaid.com as I have done hundreds of times in the past.  Customer service department at both sites tell me my account is in good standing.  Paypal blames Paypal-Prepaid; Paypal-Prepaid blames Paypal.com.  I know that I have spent more than TWO HOURS trying to get those resolved with no success.  It is incredible to me than any financial institution can deny a person's money with no explanation; that should be illegal. 4) Are you employed by Paypal or associates? 5) If so, has Paypal previousl;y been involved in a class-action or similar lawsuit?  If so, what was (were) the outcome(s)? 6) Thank you so much for your previous response and looking forward to your reply to these questions! ...
