Frozen account

How can Paypal continue to do this freezing of accounts on an apparent random basis with no explanations or apologies?  I am surprised they are not hit with class-action lawsuits constantly.  I suspect those frozen funds are used by Paypal to invest and make money on a daily basis.  Anyone else out there concerned about this?  I am fed up with their failure to un-freeze my account.  I am tiredof feeling helpless against a giant company like this. ... I would love to know the number of people who have their accounts frozen (for no apparent reason) on any given day.  That's a lot of money for Paypal to hold onto!!! ... View more

What is interesting is that the tech teams at both Paypal.com and Paypal-Prepaid.com are unable to resolve my problem or even identify the problem.  Very odd for a company as big as Paypal.  I am wondering if accounts are randomly frozen and the funds are then invested by Paypal for daily interest.  I can foresee a class action lawsuit coming if this is what is going on.  Some outside channels need to investigate this. ... Unable to transfer funds from Paypal.com to Paypal-Prepaid.  Tech departments of both unable to fix my account.  Something odd is going on here.... Is Paypal holding funds of account holders for weeks in order to invest and make interest.  Why will they not fix my problem? ... View more

Re: Paypal funds "held"

That's understandable.  Unfortunately, it could also be used as an excuse to hold a person's funds for whatever reason they want, and use those funds however they choose, until the funds are released.  I am just sayin', there sure seems to be a lot of this going on...i.e., a pattern.  Can you explain why Paypal would not simply send a verification text, as banks, Facebook, Google, etc., do? ... Also, I find it interesting no one at Paypal, Paypal Prepaid, or Netspend, is able to tell me who or what the source of the "security threat" is.  I would be most curious to know how many account holders have their funds held at any one time.  I think Paypal has over 9 million customers; that would be a lot of money "sitting around". ... The source of the surveys (and money that is sent to Paypal) is Survey Sampling International, out of Shelton Connecticut.  They have been in business since 1977.  I have done literally thousands of surveys for them, in the last 12 years, and I find them honest and trustworthy.  At least 90 percent of my Paypal deposits have come from them so this is not something new or suspicious for Paypal. ... This seems to be the number one complaint with Paypal: there is a pattern.  Paypal could easily send the account holder a text message to the registered phone number for verification, the same way Google, Facebook, and banks do.  (I have spent roughly three to four hours on this in the past week.)  This shows how risky it would be to use Paypal for anything very important...imagine going on vacation and not having access to your funds.  I am surprised Paypal is as popular as it is, considering how many complaints I am seeing on this and other sites. ... No, I have done this type of transaction (Paypal to Paypal Prepaid) hundreds of times in the past ten years.  The Paypal funds are monies I accumulate from doing surveys (E-bay is not involved in any way), so they have the money immediately.   ... View more

I have made more than 30 telephone calls and more than 30 online attempts to have my Paypal funds transferred to PayPal Prepaid Mastercard.  It has been denied every time and each time the Customer Service Rep states there is a security issue.  Since my phone calls are coming in to them at the same # listed on my account, it would be very easy to verify I am the legitimate account holder.  I am wondering if Paypal is holding these funds and blaming it on "security issues" so that they can use the money to invest.  I have already put it a complaint with BBB California and have asked the Federal Trade Commission to investigate this.  If there are others that are also experiencing and wondering about this, I suggest you contact FTC so that if a class action lawsuit arises, you would be included.  (One can file a complaint online with the FTC and BBB.)   ...
