monkeyboy, you are entitled to your opinion and I respect that. I'm glad you had a good experience with dhgate. I bought chinese ipods which 16 of 20 didn't work or wouldnt recharge once the initial 30 minute charge wore out. Have you had the joyous experience of trying to return defective items?  The seller I bought these from SIGNED for my return delivery and still claims to have not received them so he not only got the items back...he kept my money!  All I can say is BUYER BEWARE!!  You get what you pay for.  All the software (Adobe Photoshop CS4) I purchased is also copies which cannot be registered.  The listing stated it had legitimate serial numbers.  I know I'll never purchase from DHGATE again! ... Colin,   We were dealing with a bogus purchase of iPods from DHgate that were then sold on ebay. We did not know until after they were all sold that they were replicas so we willingly refunded all buyers that returned the merchandise.  It was a total nightmare that ended up causing us a major financial loss because we paid to ship these items to our buyers but had to refund their shipping back to the buyers as well as pay it to the shipping carrier (generally USPS PRIORITY PLUS DELIVERY CONFIRMATION FEE) plus we were going to be stuck with the bogus items.   The buyer to the Canada buyer, it took 3 weeks for them to receive their item. First, items were bought from DHgate with payment thru Paypal.  Second, items were sold on ebay using Paypal as the payment method.  When we found out the items were replicas they were eventually returned to the DHgate seller which cost over $100 in shipping to return the garbage to China and although we had proof the seller received the items, he got the items plus got to keep our purchase money.  We never received the promised refund.  Because DHgate is off-ebay, Paypal wouldnt help. We were on the phone with Paypal on a daily basis for 2 weeks. The Paypal policy was different with every representative we talked to. Rep's were blatently calling each other liars and saying the previous rep we talked to was WRONG about the policy.  Isnt a policy just that...a policy...that is the same no matter which representative of the same company you're talking to?   It was so far beyond frustrating that we closed our ebay selling accounts and I stopped using Paypal for a while.  I'm still very leary to use Paypal as a way to be paid for anything I'm selling because I'm afraid of chargebacks and having disputes filed against me...which is why i'm doing so much research into Internet Security tonight. ... Sounds good in theory but in reality that's not true! Sold an item to a buyer in Canada. They claimed it was a replica and wanted a refund. We said FINE, SEND THE ITEM BACK AND WE HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH REFUNDING YOU.  The item was never returned and Paypal refunded the buyer so we lost out on the money and the item.  Lost all confidence in Paypal at that point and will NEVER ship international again! ... My husband just got scammed by a person that keeps listing the items on ebay then contacts potentiall buyers and makes the deal outside of ebay.  The deal my husband made was for cameras and video equipment for $1800. His biggest mistake was agreeing to complete the sale outside of ebay and paying with a certified check instead of using paypal.  When the package arrived it contained packages of seeds and a small figurine...certainly not what he paid $1800 for! First, I chewed him out for the deal. Sure, it sounded good at the time but now the same seller has relisted the same items (and stopped the ebay listing before it ended WITH BIDS) 3 times since they received his payment.  Second, I told him this is not only INTERNET FRAUD but also MAIL FRAUD which is a FEDERAL OFFENSE.  He got the most help from the US POSTAL SERVICE.  He still hasnt got his money back yet but the bank that received the certified check has placed an account freeze on the sellers bank account. The local police are involved as well as the Post Office.  Crossing our fingers and hoping he gets his money back but meanwhile just want to WARN OTHERS! ... View more

So basically if the buyer wants the item shipped internationally to an address other than their confirmed Paypal address...that should be the RED FLAG that the transaction is going to end up SCAMming me?  My first clue this is a scam is that they're offering me $100 more than my asking price plus $120 for shipping.  Im afraid of getting a dispute filed against me for one thing or another and losing the money AND my new laptop Im selling. Below is the email content from 3 emails from my potential scammer: Good day,     I am Very interested and would like to buy, please contact me if available. Hello again,    Thank for the response,Am still interested in your listed item.i wanna make an urgent purchase of it for my client ..i'm offering you $550 for the item and i will paying $120 for the shipment...am out of state right now therefore,i wont be able to come and pay you cash for this.So I will be paying for this via PayPal so kindly send me a money request from PayPal or get back to me or with your paypal email so i can proceed with the payment. Thanks and God bless you.   I live in Seattle but i am in Mexico on business trip,As said  i am buying it for my my client as wedding present and due to my new job  i can make it to the wedding and if i ask you to send it to me,i will not make the shipping before the wedding so that is why i want you to help in this and i will be very grateful for your help and understanding. So get back to me with PayPal invoice.i will be waiting to hear from you now.. ... The iPods and iPhones that are offered on DHgate are KNOCK OFFS. THEY ARE NOT GENUINE APPLE PRODUCTS.  The same can be said for all software sold on DHgate.  I have dealt with DHgate and its KNOCK OFF PRODUCTS and lost a LOAD of money because of it.  I had to refund all the sales I made including the original shipping costs that my buyers paid to me even though I shipped the items to my buyers (additional loss to me financially). Paypal will only cover ITEMS NOT RECEIVED, not ITEMS THAT ARE SIGNIFICANTLY DIFFERENT.  BEWARE OF THIS!  Even though my DHgate seller stated I was buying iPODS...and they were actually replicas, once I accepted the package from DHgate Paypal would no longer step in.  I GOT **bleep**ED BIGTIME!! ...
