Before making a purchase it is up to the buyer to determine if the seller is trustworthy. That means doing your due dilligence about all aspects fo the seller. You can do multiple emails to determine how the seller corresponds. Your first line of protection is yourself, not PayPal. PayPal will not protect you from your own bad business transactions. I suggest you make several small purchases as you evaluate the company before any major purchase. For each purchase the seller should send a detailed invoice about the order. This includes items, descriptions, shipping costs, shipping dates, and shipping method. You make the payment through the invoice. Shipping must include tracking. I also suggest you select a shipping method which is not likely to get lost and will take less than 2 weeks to arrive. Long shipping methods are very high risk and you may lose protection due to the length of time. You should also review PayPal policies and make sure you follow every step of the process.
