I have the exactly the same experience with the same site, and presumbly as paypal australia user. I have about 200USD in balance, and invoice is 17000yen - which can be covered by balance easily. However when I use their payment link I can only select bank account/credit card as funding source.  I don't buy this 'paypal calculates the cheapest rate' thing - normal forex tend to convert to USD as a reference currency then to the other currency anyway which is why conversion between any currency/USD tend to give lower spread vs say AUD/JPY.    Also there may be reasons a user want to use balance - for example need the money in bank for a bill AND that paypal withdrawal takes time to settle as well as the conversion cost. So irrespective of the reason for not offering paypal balance as default funding source it should be offered as an option at least, my money, my call.   Right now the issue is I cannnot access part of my money for a payment, which defeats the whole purpose of Paypal as a payment service.           ...  Hi shortlet,   You're right!   If those payments are pending, you should see both an available balance and a pending balance within the desktop version of your PayPal account.   However, if you're viewing your account activity on the PayPal app, you're pending balance may not be visible.   Donation payments shouldn't really be held though so why don't you consider contacting us through Twitter or Facebook so we can research this further for you? You mentioned that thde card is a prepaid card, would you mean a gift or virtual card with that? After you requested the code via your PayPal account it usually takes 2-3 business days before it's visible on your bankstatement. This code can't be emailed to you I'm afraid. Hey Dacino, Thanks for posting and welcome to the forums. It sounds like there might be some issues with the verification of the card. Have you made sure that your PayPal account details match those of your credit card issuer? Sometimes the tiniest change in the address, for example, can make a difference. A lot of tracking companies would ask for this information so that they may be able to call you in case you're not home or can't find the address. Hi Bluedee, Thanks for posting and welcome to the forums    It depends entirely on how the payment is being funded. If you were to send a payment via your credit, or debit, card then the payment should be instant. The same applies for payments funded by your PayPal balance.
