Hi soyoulikefabric,   Thank you for your message!   I’m sorry to hear this 😞   When your transaction funded by PayPal balance is refunded, you should see funds right away back in your PayPal balance Is there any chance that you’ve funded the payment with your bank account? In that case the refund will be available in your PayPal balance when the original transaction from your bank account will complete.   When you send a bank funded Instant Transfer payment, two things happen simultaneously: - PayPal sends a request to your bank for the funds for the transaction. It takes 3-7 business days for funds to come from your bank. - PayPal pays the seller up front for you, instantly, so that the seller will not delay in processing your order.   When refund or cancellation occurs for that payment within a few days of it being sent, the funds that PayPal paid up front for you are returned. However, the funds from your bank account are still in transit. They haven't reached your PayPal account yet. Unfortunately as this is a member to member help group, no one here can look at user account details or information.  All we can do is speculate.   First, we're not sure if the email you received was valid or not.   Assuming that you have both your eBay Account and PayPal Account setup properly (meaning both are linked to each other and your PayPal Account is verified), what we can tell you is that when you sell an item, you do get an email notification of the sale and there should also be a record of the sale in your PayPal Account Transaction History.   As for the funds, they would be deposited into your PayPal Account Balance however, if you're a new eBay seller, PayPal may hold those funds until you ship the item.  Regardless, this information would all be there if you have a record of the transaction in your Account History.  You would even see the status of the funds, either pending or on hold, something like that.   If you don't have any record of the sale in your PayPal Account, all can do is assume that the email you received was possibly a fake (a common scammer trick).  Should that be the case and you shipped the item, there's not much that can be done to remedy the situation.   You can contact customer support and ask them to check out your account and if the email is questionable, you can forward it to the "spoof" address on this page: https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/security/suspicious-activity       ...
