Hello there, I’m usually pretty good at detecting fake dodgy items for sale as I was stung a few times when I first purchased online.
My daughter is a hair dresser and setting up her own salon. I offered to buy her GHD’s for Christmas. She named he ones she wanted and they came up as being half price on offer.
These were from a web address <removed> It was late so I made the purchase went to bed and then started thinking something isn’t right.
I went on PayPal to look at the Order details and noticed that ‘GHD’ wasn’t in the order description, just platinum hair tool or words to that effect. I emailed them to ask that the order be cancelled as I became suspicious. They emailed back to say it wasn’t possible as the order has been already processed.
A few days later I received an email to say my order has been shipped from China and could take up to 30 days. I have waited a good 11/12 days so far and nothing has arrived yet but I just checked the tracking and it’s not recognised. I’m very concerned that if I open a non receipt , they will just send out a doggy fake pair of ghd’s then PayPal will close the case. I did ask to cancel right at the start. Can I demand a refund now? I’m not that clued up on this I’m just gutted as when I investigated further on the official ghd site I entered the website dress and it came up as “ CAUTION unknown retailer” 😥 can anyone advice please? I haven’t opened a dispute yet as unsure how best to proceed.
