What impact would closing the account on the crypto that I own at PayPal? Seems that closing and reopening a new account while owning crypto will cause a larger new set of problems. That option is unacceptable.

Arbitrary means one that was not an option. For example in my case my nickname is Eddie [removed] I requested my name to be changed to Edwin [removed] Jr as it is shown on my drivers license and passport that was submitted as required to Paypal. Paypal then changed my name to Eddie [removed] which is not listed on my drivers license or passport. I called and they finally got it correct. My name now matches my driver's license and passport. It should be noted that in order to be correct my last name must also include my surname (Jr). Leaving Jr off of my name is the same as my father's name. If a data base has not a field provided for surname then it is best to make the last name [removed] Jr. and NOT [removed]. Such seems to be the case with many companies that use inferior software to maintain customer or user names. In any case, the issue seems to be finally resolved. Thanks for your help and input. EHBJ

When you call them on the phone and they ask for your name should you give them your 1. Old name 2. Arbitrary name or 3. Official name as listed on passport? I gave them all 3 on the phone and it was quite confusing. They then asked what was the issue. Have been transferred again to another department. This certainly is not like my Discover Credit Card customer service!

Been there, done that and submitted my US Passport, did not work. That is why I ask for solution after name was changed to name that is not listed on my passport.

I read that you do not have to have a Paypal account to donate to a non-profit. We have applied for non-profit and setup account. Currently in process of providing more info for approval. I have setup the button that we made from the Paypal account. Placed it on our website and tried it out. Had a couple of problems. 1. When the button directed to the Paypal website for the donation, it made users choose a password and setup a Paypal account. Why and how to fix. Most of our users will use a credit card and will not want to sign up for a Paypal account. 2. Unable to link the button to the Paypal account id. It linked to the primary user email account. We do not want the Primary user email floating around for spammers. How do I change the button to reference the account. When I went into account button preferences the little circle was grayed out for account id and only the primary user email address was available. Thanks

I purchased a pair of boots from Sears. I paid using Paypal. Now my shipping address is confirmed and listed as the Sears Store where I picked up the boots. Seems like a small flaw in the design of the software. My confirmed shipping address is my HOME and NOT the Sears Store 60 miles from my home. Has anyone else noticed strange addresses showing up in their confirmed shipping address configuration for Paypal?
