You only recourse at this time would be if you actually used a credit card for Paypal to pull from, versus a checking account. Your credit card will then file (and get nasty) with pp to recompense their monies. This same thing happened to me, so I'm speaking from experience. Scammer said a 120# pellet smoker was delivered in my mailbox 2 days after order. All was fake. pp denied the claim. I had to go back to my Credit Card company (Barclays) and they filed for me and recouped my losses. Lesson learned. I will never use paypal account again. ... View more

NEVER!!! You have NO buyer protection using Paypal, although that is what they claim! I would only do transaction face to face, and ask for cash or certified check from bank. Just my opinion and experience of 50-something years! ... View more

Yes, My CC card sent me a letter this weekend saying that I am not responsible for the charge on my CC acount. I am assuming they are going after PP and I know that Barclay's have much more pull with them than I do! ... View more

Yes, That is what I found also. Case close is case closed and you will NOT get to talk to anyone about it. However, I also learned when you then file with your Credit card company, (if you have that recourse) Paypal will send you a notice telling you that they want you to close the case with CC and let them decide the case - AFTER they have already said they have decided the case against you! That tells me that the CC companies are putting their 'nads in a wringer and will probably soon be done with Pay pal also. ... View more

Yes!!! Apparently it really is that easy for scammers to be protected through paypal and you have no recourse, unless you have Paypal directly charge you CC for the transactions. Then, and only then, do you have any protection. I also have done away with Paypal and will only directly use my Credit card from now on. PP is not now, nor ever will be an option for me again! ... I had two of these claims. When I filed with Paypal, they were immediately denied. I was **bleep**. But thankfully I had my paypal set to route through a credit card. So I filed next with CC co. I immediately got a message from PP telling me to cancel with the cc company or they could not do anything more with the claim! Excuse me!!?? They had already denied the claim and closed it!! ... Thanks for this information. However, when I tried it, all I get is the automated response, which tell me "All our agents are currently offline. Please try again during business hours." It is 1:15pm EST here in Indiana, not sure what time zone they work in, but it should be during business hours anywhere in the United States! I have a feeling they have taken down any ability to do "chat" with a live person, just for this reason! When I asked what the business hours are, the "automated idiot" did not know, or would not tell me what they were.  ... View more
