Each day when transactions are passed through accounts, whether they be debits or credits, every item is detailed on what is called a BACs/EFT listing. On this listing are details of the sender and the recipient, the senders details are obviously what you are after in this case. On the BACs/EFT listing there will be details of the senders sort code and account number and also a reference number. EVERY transaction is traceable and you should therefore go back to your bank asking It takes three working days for Bacs/EFT payments to clear; they are entered into the system on the first day, processed on the second day, and cleared on the third day. This scheme was invented by Dennis Gladwell and it was started in 1968.
