Thank you for the Quick reply, ahh ok, i think i might pass then, i dont want to risk so much money, i cant pick it up in person as i live in Manchester and the seller is in London, i dont know the person, its just a person that is selling a bike, it is £600 plus another £100 for shipping, if there is no cover i cant do it, he said he wanted bank transfer but i`d be in the same situation, i think paypal fee on £700 would be £70, 10% ? i would be willing to go halves with him but i doubt he will go for it.. ... hi, i was thinking of buying something from london, its £600 plus shipping, the person said he would only wants bank transfer, but he said he would accept paypal, but only if its paid friends and family because he doesn`t want to be charged the killer fees, i dont feel safe doing it this way but i really want the item, so this has probably been asked many times, am i covered if the item is not sent, or like if something goes wrong ? thanks alot.. hi again,no i never paid with my card i paid with paypal,and it really is getting very silly now,its the 31st december and i still haven't got the money back yet..what am i supposed to do if i dont get it back ? do i have to ring paypal up direct ? i should'nt have to because its my money they are holding but if so i will have to do that,i cannot understand why they  cant just issue my refund..   ... hi thank you for you advice,i did finally get a refund later that day on the 22nd,but now its the 27th, 5 days has gone by and its still not showing up in my paypal account,it says in my paypal that the seller has issued the refund,but my paypal balance still says £0.00,as usual with paypal,when you pay for something,the money is taken instantly,but soon as it comes to getting money back,all of  a sudden there is a delay..i suppose a day or 2 is acceptable,but 5 days is ridiculous,if it does'nt rain,it pours ... Hi,Kind of strange..i d bid on a laptop on ebay,was outbid,the auction ended,the next day i recieved a second chance offer,a couple of hours after recieving it,i clicked the buy it now,then payed,about 10 minutes later i got a request to cancel the transaction because he said he had sold to someone else,so i agreed to the cancellation,then next thing i know,it shown up as "case closed" then it said "to get my money back i have to contact the seller" i thought "what the hell" ? i thought that i would automattically get a refund on cancellation,so i have contacted the seller and he has'nt refunded me and has'nt replied to my messages,this cant be right !! why dont i get my money back automattically ? this sounds stupid.. hi,i bought something on ebay last week,it came to £19 something..a few days later i got a message from the seller saying the item was faulty and has refunded my money,then he sent me a cancellation,i agreed to the cancellation,but when i went to my paypal to check to make sure the refund was there,it says that it has a temporary hold while its being reviewed ? what is this all about ? how can someone hold my money ? the transaction was between me and the seller,it should'nt have anything to do with paypal ? ... yes he said he checked his paypal and he said it was sent to my old email,and said the payment is "unclaimed" but he is saying he is nervous because he said something about him being liable for something,not sure what he said,i told him to cancel payment,then resend it to my propper current email,then i told him to click ebay transaction,then put the item number in,i'm sure that should sort it out,but it does'nt look like he is going to do that,he told me that i should cancel the payment and cancel the invoice and correct it and resend it,but 1) i marked it as item despatched,and i provided tracking,so i think its gone past the invoice stage,and 2) i cant cancel the payment myself because i have'nt got it,its not showing up in my ebay,or in my paypal,and i cant cancel it in my emails because its gone to my old email address which i cant access anymore,so there is nothing to cancel,i cant cancel anything,so he has to do it,but he wont..so i'm stuck..he just keeps saying he will be liable because he said he will be going back on a contract..   *i'm getting tired" ... I have been messaging back and forth with the buyer,he seems like a nice genuine guy,i asked him to check the email address that the money has gone to,he confirmed it went to my old email address,but now he said he is nervous about resending it to my propper email address because he wants to know why it has gone to my old one,i reckon he thinks i am trying to scamm him or something,but i would never do that..i said i will mark payment as recieved and leave good feedback,but he still has'nt done it.. ... i just looked,in my paypal it has my usual address,but in my ebay its gone back to my old address but not by me..i just tried to log in to my old relic email address and it says username is invalid,so thats how long i have'nt used the email address for because it does'nt even exsist anymore..   is there anything i can do,or is the only thing i can do is ask the seller to cancel payment and resend ? and i just hope he will be honest enough to do that ? ...
