I have been denied my claim against a sellers so called father, for an item I initially bought on eBay. Seller needed the money fast, though the funds were on hold from pay pal. He sent me multiple requests, to the point pal pal suspended his account. Pay pal is sending me a compete refund for that transaction. All seemed to be good. I really wanted the item of my son, and was a great deal, and I was contacted by the seller that he could still send me the item, if I just send the cash to his father's pay pal account, as it wasn't suspended. After 20 or so emails, I did believe him to be sincere, as scammers would never be that persistent? (which I now know is incorrect!) . So, cash was sent to his father's account. That was three weeks ago, now, after multiple emails were unanswered from either seller and his father, I escalated to a claim. Yesterday, pay pal sent me their decision, my claim was denied, citing no misrepresentation. Seller's father said his account was hacked, he only uses it for school, and he checked it as school is starting soon. I find that nearly impossible to believe, as I have used pay pal over ten years now, ANY activity in my account is followed by a email within hours. So, how did he not know of any emails I had sent him? Maybe a week someone wouldn't check emails, but a few weeks? Not buying it! Also, original seller's last name, and his so-called father's last name are the same. At no time had the seller's father even mentioned he received the cash, so if suddenly you see on your pal pal statement that $208 was deposited in your account, then removed by someone other than you, how do you not mention it? This entire transaction seems like a huge scam by this seller and his father to me! I can't understand why pay pal denied my claim, clearly I was scammed, seller said he didn't know of the transaction, I paid using goods& services purposely to cover my payment. I can't understand why pay pal is suddenly siding with scammers, and not covering buyers as they always say they will! Very disappointing, John Greaves. ( If it helps, pay pal case #PP-D-38622244
