I need to talk to someone at paypal but can't.   All I get is a totally useless autobot. Does anyone have a clue when paypal might get phone support again?   And here's a thought, if walmart can staff every store in the country, WHY can't paypal hire PHONE support.  No social contact is needed to talk on the phone.   Yea venting....  but I need to speak to someone about a charge and refund through ebay and NEITHER ONE is showing up.  It's just bizarre. ... So I got an email that they removed the phone number I typed out.   IT WAS PAY PALS OWN CUSTOMER SUPPORT NUMBER!!!!!!   So the fact they want to hide their OWN phone from customers is clear proof they simply don't want to hire support help at all.  Offer support, or KEEP a customer who sells goods all the time and uses pay pal all the time.   So you will earn NOTHING from me this round.  Maybe I can sign up with another service.    Also... WHY do I have to click the "I'm not a robot" thing OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER.... Yet when someone TRIES to call pay pal with a problem all we get are robots?   Great way to run a business here.   I wish their CEO would come read their own forum posts.  Better yet, hope they really do record calls.   Here how many people LOSE IT over their automated voice mail from hell.   ok, lets see how many attempts this one takes. ... I will not TOUCH facebook.  With all the scandals they have been on the news over since it's inception... only fools would still use facebook.   I want nothing to do with them.... ever. I do have a twitter account but honestly, why would I post a question about taking credit card payments with pay pal through twitter? Just because paypal doesn't want to pay humans to pick up the phone?  Cheaper to send everything through voicemail?   Have ANY companies ever actually looked into how many sales they LOSE because of some thing as simple as not having any way to contact them?  A customer takes the time to call your business then no one can be bothered to pick up?   I tell ya more than a few local businesses lost me.     I'm done here.  My answer is no, phone is too old.  Just a one day flea market, I'll bring only cheap items and take cash only. So pay pal will earn NOTHING off of me on commission fees.   Not one penny.   Wonder how many other people have been blown off the same way? ... View more

MY GOD this is frustrating. I actually found their phone number by GOOGLING it. Then the autobot repeats my phone asks if it's the one for my account. Yes. Now RIGHT THERE they HAVE all my information. Including what country I live in. (They have my house address for crying out loud.) But still it asks the last 4 of my SS (which I HATE giving over the phone.) But fine. Did it. Then I have to listen to my balance. I DID NOT ASK FOR MY BALANCE AND JUST LOOKING FOR SUPPORT I HAVE TO LOG IN FIRST RIGHT? THE FIRST THING YOU SEE IS YOUR BALANCE. What MORON programs these things? After shouting at a computer bot AGENT, support, service, brain, human, as well as a few choice cuss words, FINALLY I somehow got a person. Who in turn gives me a phone number for their card reader department. Ok, good. Called that. Well it seems low level (free) users like myself doesn't get support. I tried anyway. THEN.... the idiot computer asks if I want a call back. NO I DO NOT. But there is no option for no. There's 1 for yes and 2 for more information about call backs. I started hammering zeros... and shouting assorted cuss words. (Yea I know that doesn't help, makes me feel better.) So FINALLY I land a human. Nice girl. Once I finally get to a person pay pal has always been great. Well bottom line... my phone is too old so it won't work. And see? This ALL could have been avoided if someone would UPDATE their site and say "anything older than OS10 will not work." Not simply say "Most ios..." And have a phone number TO A HUMAN who actually took all of about 5 seconds to find the answer. Here, in case anyone else needs to know about card readers. edited here as it seems pay pal does not even want THEIR OWN phone number shown.  So fine, here. <removed>   (so much for stupid text filters.)  (good luck with the computer that answers.) GEES how flipping much can it possibly cost to HIRE HUMANS to say "Hi how may I direct your call." EASY. Not royally **bleep** off your customers with this endless idiotic computer garbage. Yea?   Tried it lately?   I've used paypal for YEARS.   There has always been a way to call them or have them call me.  IT IS GONE!   The contact us only brings up the SAME PAGE OF SELF HELP LINKS.   Go try it.   USA by the way,  not that this should matter for a credit card reader, will it work on my iphone 5 question though. Please don't tell me paypal got red of any means of talking to a human here.  Every time I click contact us all I get is a list of possible topics. NONE OF WHICH ARE WHAT I NEED!!!!! I tried plugging in my question only to get more of the same.   NOT MY QUESTION AT ALL!!!!!.   I needed to find the answer quickly.  Hence a PHONE CALL.   Forums rarely provide answers quickly let alone at all. But here goes. I have a credit card reader, got it long ago.   Never actually used it on my iphone, only on my daughters ipad. Not available this time... What I need to know is will this thing work on my iphone 5?  All I can find on this site is... "Compatible with MOST ios....."    Most?   MINE?????  Mine too old???? What exactly is MOST?  And do I need to install an app as well? (I NEVER have much luck doing that.) THIS is why I needed to SPEAK TO SOMEONE.   AND I would have liked to actually test this.  Perhaps ring up a few pennies just to see if it goes through.   Going to a craft fair two days from now.   Guess I'll stick to cash only.   Damn.... I sure hope paypal didn't join with the rest of the worlds stupidity and no longer has support.   I may have to start using an alternative if this is the case.      OH gees.... I don't know what "category" this falls under?   CREDIT CARDS????  SUPPORT?  LACK OF SUPPORT?  I don't see any of those here. Pay pal credit... not really a pay pal credit card.... Hey, I should post a final follow up to my saga here.   This is even more unbelievable.   First, kudos to paypal.  After hours on the phone, and several very HOT letters to their so said non support about how you don't get delivery confirmation for overseas shipments, someone finally actually reviewed my case and refunded my full amount for shoes sent the wrong size out of China.  Without even charging back the seller. So the seller made money selling cheap, wrong size stuff, but either way I got my money back.  I donated the shoes to charity and thought I was done.   Well I was done with pay pal's end of things, but this stuipd seller kept on sending me messages that they would refund (partial) for the shoes if I closed the case.  I wrote back several times that is IS closed.  I was refunded.  Keep your money, and Ill never shop there again, but either way it's done. Well after about a half dozen of these, I finally thought ok, Ill get really rude with this twit company.  Insulted them, their nationality, everything.  Honestly just hoping they would write me off and stop bothering me.  I did tell them I was made whole and this is over. They must be braindead.    Well... they "refunded" me the sales price of the shoes anyway.   So I actually made money on this whole thing.  (well unless you factor in my time fighting for a lousy 18.00.)   I have to say, over the years, pay pal has always had much more reliable support.  I don't know what happened.  I sure hope I never need them again.  Actually there is a craft fair coming up and I might need support to get their CC reader to work.  (Always has issues.)  I might be better off just switching to some other service for that.   ... further.....  the lady who was helping me?   Said she had to put me on hold for "a few minutes" to find out why NO COMMENTS or any "case history" was showing up on this dispute.     I sat and sat......   THEN.... ANOTHER LADY picks up who knows NOTHING of what is going on.   SERIOUSLY?   I had to start ALL OVER AGAIN!    This time I said maybe I need to start taking names of who is losing me.    I asked her name.   "I am a disputes agent."    Nice name.  I said do you have an employee id?  Badge?  Number?  SOMETHING?   She said Nicole, but that only applies to my case.   (Now ya know it's shady when the person your speaking with is too afraid to give their first name.)   So ok, fine.  I start all over.   Then my phone goes dead.    Had 50% charge when I started all this nonsense.         Never again.   I will NOT be using money in my pay pal account to purchase ANYTHING!!!!!!!!! RIP any money out, use my credit card.   Use pay pal only to keep my card number safe.   (Not that I'm very worried about that either. I'm on hold with them yet again.   Had to log out and try as a guest.  (GOOD LUCK getting past that automoron bot.)   But right now I have a lady who listened and is supposedly trying to help.   And NO.   I will NOT EAT SHIPPING TWO WAYS for an item that is NOT AS DESCRIBED! When I first called to disput this, pay pal said they are familiar with this company.  Seems this happens a lot. So if they have any class at all, PAY PAL would be the ones to say no.   Don't ship what is described?  Eat the loss.   Not expect the customer to.   Meanwhile, after all this nonsense with pay pal, I think my best self advice is simply keep my balance here ZERO.   Use my own credit card. THEY would have no problem reversing this.         BTW... you said "wins."   This was NOT an ebay thing.  This is a store site newchic.com    Shoes with US and EU sizes, and yet over a full INCH wrong. Their email to me was that I should have checked THEIR size chart.   So fine.  I looked.  And even by thier own chart, (which is just stupid, US sizes don't change size in China.)   But even by their own chart, the shoes are NOT the size they claim.   So I want my money back.  ALL of it.   I cannot get tracking.       I did ask this lady to put in pay pals suggestion box... Why can't pay pal open a small warehouse.   I can ship within the states to pay pal.  Get tracking.  Let them see the item for themselves, and when they see it's not as described, pay pal issues a full refund, (which costs THEM nothing.  Keeps a customer.  To **bleep** with the cheating seller.) Probably pointless posting here.  Doing this WHILE I'm rotting on hold.     First... dispute pending.   I bought shoes that turned out to be TWO FULL SIZES too small.   Out of China.   If I'd have known this site was China based I'd have RUN away.   SO I first contacted them.  Saved the entire chat.   They "offered" me 7.00 back on shoes I paid 20.00 for.   At first I said fine, then contacted pay pal.  I did NOT get what I paid for so why should I put up with this.   Well.... they then came back offering me the full shoe price. 14.43.  I was TOLD by pay pal to just wait for them.  So I declined.     THEN pay pal just sent me an email (in raw HTML code, very hard to read.)   Saying I need to ship these back, and get tracking.   YOU DO NOT GET TRACKING FOR OVERSEA SHIPMENTS!!!!!  I'm SURE pay pal knows this don't they?   So NOW what? I called.  Rotted on hold over half an hour.    Called again later.        Now WHY when you have to log in just to GET their phone number, and the first thing you see is your balance, does their STUPID AUTOBOT have to waste time reading off my balance?????   GOD I DETEST THOSE THINGS! Then we play 50 questions over why am I calling.   But it NEVER seems to understand.   Now I'm so flipping furious I start cussing at it. FINALLY "I can't understand you, I'll transfer you to a customer service agent."     YA THINK?    How long does it take to HIRE A HUMAN to say  "HI, HOW may I direct your call?"     Time it.  Two seconds?  Tops?    VS ticking off your customer no end?   After TWENTY MINUTES I get through.   TO INDIA.   I say I need to speak to someone about my dispute.   IN the time it's taken me to write this so far I have been listening to pay pals IRRITATING RECORDINGS!!!!!!!   Pay pal commercials.    I'm so furious right now I don't think I EVER WANT to use pay pal again.    And this is actually unusual for them.   I have had to call before and always had wonderful help.   WHAT IS GOING ON NOW?   I cannot find HOW OR WHERE to submit information about this claim.   LIke the entire chat I had, several emails back and forth explaining that the shoe they sent is NOT the size they claim it to be?  WHY SHOULD I PAY ANYTHING FOR THIS? I cannot tell pay pal you cannot GET TRACKING ON A SHIPMENT BACK TO CHINA.    BECAUSE NO ONE WILL PICK UP THE PHONE!     STILL.   Another half hour shot.   People, do not EVER BUY ANYTHING from a company called newchic   unless you figure two sizes off.   As for pay pal?    I WISH I would have cleaned out my account first.  Put this on my CREDIT CARD and dispute it with them. Will from now on.       PAY PAL DISPUTES SEEMS TO BE WORTHLESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!    STILL ROTTING ON HOLD HERE.     ((((Insert a slew of cussing right here boy.)))))  Well they must be hoping I will give up.    While rotting on hold I ALSO shot pay pal a HOT email.       And when that too gets ignored?   It's rip off reports, better business bureau, cyber crimes and anything else I can find. MAINLY to this horrible company in China,  but also to pay pal for PISSPOOR CUSTOMER SUPPORT!   And now it's been over an hour sitting on hold.    I AM giving up.  For today.    FURIOUS I AM!
