Re: Paypal unable to protect customers

It was never my intent to have someone pay anything other than cash for the junk vehicle, i only asked 600 and was being nice and said i would accept 400 only if it were paid via pay pal . the guy was supposedly 100 miles away in Nashville and wanted me to hold it for him to eventually come and look at it. I had multiple buyers wanting that junker for some reason. I was being hounded by this idiot and i just wanted it gone as quick as possible. Then it took almost a month if i remember correctly for him to finally come get it. The junker didn't even have a title. And was advertised as such, no brakes, doesn't run, no title and rusty. I knew i should have just told that con to **bleep** off. He had an obvious Islander accent and the majority of them i have met are very dishonest and always trying some kind of con. But i went the extra mile to not stereotype and it only caused a lot of problems, lost rent money from renters, in the way, and now it seems paypal is happy to help the mystery financial institution steal money from me with absolutely no explanation besides he claims he did not receive an item i was supposed to ship. No idea where that has any merit because there never was anything at all specified , i simply got his email address from him and sent a money request. I don't think I put any notes on the request. So in theory i guess anyone can pay money owed to someone or send money to someone and then make some **bleep** up and get it back?  ... View more

Thats another reason i am confused, i was completely honest about the vehicle being junk and no title and needing work to even use on a farm or private property. I sold it for a measly $400 and now this scammer has somehow manipulated it to look like i was supposed to have shipped something to them? I do not understand how PayPal will take my money away from me now because someone is committing fraud but no one knows and reason or even the financial institution involved. And PayPal does not even seem to want to see my proof ... View more

PAyPal helping scammers

I sold a junk vehicle on facebook marketplace. The vehicle was described as not running, no title, no brakes, rusted out 2003 nissan 4x4 frontier pick up truck. A guy wanted me to hold it for him when i had other potential buyers lining up to buy it. Then it took this guy almost a month to get the vehicle i only sold because i needed it gone from a rental property. I lost rent money because of it. That was started in April 10th, i have text and phone records of conversations all the way up to the buyer picking the vehicle up. I have video surveillance of the buyer picking the vehicle up. Now during a known long term power outage in my area the buyer has made some kind of complaint saying he did not receive the item. No idea what item he is saying the money was for but they want a tracking number? PayPal is withholding funds from me from other things like a core charge return for a starter from rock auto, i will urge rock auto to no longer use or accept pay pal. They are tryig to get money from my bank account to refund this scammer, luckily i don't enough in my account to cover it. I ask PayPal to describe what financial institution it is, what reason was given or anything and they can't because they do not know. Yet they take my money. I tell them i have evidence to submit, video surveillance, extensive phone and text records yet the link they provide for even screen shotting the many text messages does not work. It did work briefly but even though i can send a screen shot via normal text my phone does not allow me to send one via the PayPal special text. The original cowardly **bleep** bag buyer will not respond to me. I can no understand how PayPal is doing anythinhg at all to me based on nothing at all and they do not care what evidence i have.  ... View more
