Hi, I returned home to S. Africa from the USA some years ago. While there, I opened a PayPal account for a couple of transactions. I now want to use the account again and am going through the motions of closing it to re-open it with my new credentials. I was unable to log into PayPal due to my local mobile number not being accepted (simple security check). Somehow I managed to by-pass this and log in earlier. The account has a zero balance, no notifications and nothing appears wrong. When I select to close the account I receive an error suggesting that PayPal were unable to verify that it's me. I'm unable to call the USA / int'l numbers from my mobile and the PayPal chat-bot isn't providing relevant guidance. How do I proceed please?
